Car Collecting and the Speciality Dealer

So I have a question. Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I understand you lose collector score points when you sell a car. With this being the case it it actually worth buying up cars from the speciality dealer when they appear and then selling the regular version? Will the small increase in collector score from having the speciality dealer version add up to much in the long run?

I’m just curious. At this stage I’ve got every car in the game except a few of the rarer FE ones. Was wondering if it was worth steadily replacing all my cars with speciality dealer versions and selling off the regular ones since you don’t have enough garage space for two of every car.

The same thing came into my mind month ago.
Yes, if you want a higher score (breaking the magic collector score of 45 at some point), you have to buy the specialty dealer cars and sell the normal version.
Both don’t count, I’m pretty sure, but not 100%.

BUT there is a problem for me: I don’t want to sell cars I already have stats for (races, podiums, wins, time driven, km/miles driven etc.).
And I don’t really know what happens with the upgrade parts already bought.

And in the end, even if you have every single car from the specialty dealer: It would be maybe 10-15k points more I think.
Thats 1 1/2 ranks up.
Is it worth it? I don’t think so.
So I only bought the cars I didn’t had in the specialty dealer, the last one in february.
And many, many cars were already in the shop, so you can’t get the max possible score until they repeat them.
And that could take a while…

Didn’t think about the stats on the cars, makes sense though.

I’ve reached collector tier 46 by using the specialty dealer.

As FACR Deathgrips pointed to above, I too reached collector score 46 through this. That said it’s just a pointless number at this point.
