One of the few GT1 road-legal racers we are still missing, the C7R never achieved the success it was capable of. A better power-to-weight ratio than the McLaren F1 and a 640 hp V8, it should have been the American competiotion to Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Nissan in international endurance racing. The only event it could properly participate in was the 1997 Daytona 24h race, which it led half way through. Sadly, it was outlawed for the following season and Callaway’s first bespoke construction turned out a massive failure.

A Beast of a Corvette and easily one of my favourite versions of it.

I wish Callaway in general got more representation in games as they’ve pushed Corvettes in terms of performance for decades now. They were last featured primarily in the Project Gotham Racing Series.

Unfortunately I can’t find any running videos of this car by itself.

Gosh…what a beautiful car. Another manufacturer that’s faded away but still fairly popular. Wondering if playground or turn 10 will ever be able to source these for scanning.

Callaway is still around actually. Not doing much but you can buy tuned trucks, Camaros, and vettes. They also currently run SRO GTWC with a custom built Corvette C7 called the Callaway C7 GT3R.

I believe they still have a C7 GT1 prototype at there headquarters in Connecticut

Yeah, I should clarify; is playground or turn 10 willing to go source and scan the cars.
