The top image is the early 90s version of the Bristol beaufighter and the bottom image is of the early 40s version of the Bristol beaufighter. As you can see over the 50 year span between production cycles the designers decided to change the platform quite a bit. Some minor changes include the reduction of wings, going from 2 sidemounted engines to a single front mounted engine, and they removed the tailgunner position entirely which I must admit would be handy in some situations but I suppose the designers found it unnecessary for highway driving
