Clairvoyant pointed me in the direction of this section and I’ve been keeping my eye out for one of these to take part in, unfortunately I don’t have full live membership to download your car and tune but I have bought and used the tune specced in the first post by CFunk and I have to say, I’m terrible
My first run was a 2.24.458, second was 2.21.234 and the rest (another 3 runs) ranging between 2.23.083 and 2.26.017 … to say I’m not impressed by my own times is an understatement
Quick question, do you run these times in the test environment after you’ve setup your car?
Also, I’m presuming people run with ABS, TCS off and manual gears?
I myself , i setup an online lobby race and set it to 10 laps per session .
Its seems manual with clutch is quicker , though by how much depends on the skill set of each person . I think running without traction control is quicker too .
I may be in the running for the slowest clean lap.
I got a 2:23.150 using wowThatsgarbage’s tune.
I guess My MS wheel is not suited for hairpins and speed except on the Ovals.
Keep at it EZT, I was in the same boat as you when I first started, I’ve now managed to knock almost 10 seconds off my time, as Voldemortt said, keep running the course, learn the braking points and gradually your time will start to decrease.
By the way, that pic of yours, that corner plus the one before is an absolute killer, the long run across the bridge before, I can never work out whether to break or handbrake into it, if you get the first corner wrong, the next one is guaranteed to be rubbish but when you get it right, it’s a great feeling
Most excellent, look forward to crawling round the track while the other fly by
I’ve had a few runs this morning, turned TC and SC off, gave it some big time whelly of the loud pedal, yanked the handbrake and slid round a few corners and managed to shave 1.2 secs off my best time … 2.19.033 - how on earth I knock even 10 secs off to get anywhere near the leaders is beyond me
Big improvement on your time Jive. That’s what this particular type of challenge is for, with the way the tunes are shared it helps people see how settings affect certain things, and to what fits your style.
I use the Free Play / Hot Lap section. You can run as many laps as you want and can save the replay.
Yes, I turn off TCS and ABS, and just use manual. The clutch is too awkward for me, I just don’t like the settings for it. Most change it to the A button, but I still don’t like it. I do also use the Full Driving Line though.
Yep, deffo improving with each run and loving the challenge
Would just like to say thanks for the tip on the Free Play/Hot Lap. I did try that earlier but for the life of me, I missed my garage icon and couldn’t work out how to select my car … what a n00b! Now that I’ve spotted it, just used it and it’s a great help to have your shadow to race against plus also seeing the leaderboards for everyone, first run I did a 2.20 which put me around 9000th area, second run, even with a couple of taps to the scenery, I’ve improved to 2.18.501 moving me up to 3857
I ran high 2:11’s with Cfunks tune . I reckon ive tuned around 4 or 5 AWD’s before so not 100 % sure if the diff settings are right but it seems to take corners ok . I managed a 2:10:267 with it ( clean ) and a few dirty high 09’s . Will put it on my SF and post it here if anyone wants to try her out .
Well call me speedy … well maybe not … but hey, time improvement update, now down to a 2.16.200 - still running with auto gears so that’s probably what’s really slowing me down, well apart from hitting the barriers on the way down … a clean lap for me is nigh on impossible
