I’m always checking this thread for reference on the front and rear wings when I work on these. xD
If you don’t mind, where did you find the front wing (oval) on the left side? I blew a square up just to find it and it never touched it. On the right side I have no problem, so it’s weird. When I was messing around with the Dallara before I always just used the stock wing that just phases across so it was never a problem.
It depends on what car you are using. The #1 Chevy has some weird coordinates for the wings, but it is possible to put logos on the endplates. The #9 Honda is a different story, though. On the oval version, for some reason the left wing can only be painted if the car is painted with an aluminum polished, steel polished, brass polished, copper polished, chrome, or gold base. The only real advantage the #9 has is that the undertray can be painted, so I’d strongly recommend using the #1 Chevy.
Here’s the coordinates for the #1 Chevy:
Oval- Right side: 420, -70.50
Left side: 435.00, -54.50
Road- Right side: (on left side of car) -444.50, -60.50
Left side: (on right side of car) 425.50, -72.50
(if logo is asymmetrical, it should be mirrored first)
That’s so weird that they would have different mapping (and what’s up with the paint exceptions???) I love the inclusion of open wheel, but I hope they get them straightened out for FM6.
Well, the car I’m doing is technically a Chevy anyways though so I guess I have a target for my July rewards bonus. Thanks for the coordinate help!
Made this for Global Sim Racing’s USF2000 series. The plan is to have each driver run the same livery in our rookie series (USF2000 & MX-5 Cup), with the only changes being to the name and number.
That’s a great idea (although I think a different base color would make a spotter’s life much easier). Out of sheer curiosity: when did GSR start running a USF2000 series? Or any feeder series, for that matter. I am no rookie, but I surely could use a refresher!
Also, your IndyCar replicas never fail to deliver. Some jaw-dropping logo work here! I’ll have to get myself a #1 Chevy sooner or later.
The color was based off the MX-5 livery (which I didn’t design) in an attempt to give both cars a uniform appearance. I thought about using different colors for drivers, but GSR has over 100 members, so it would have been difficult to give everyone a unique color.
GSR just changed their structure a couple weeks ago into a tier system, with points given based on clean racing in the rookie classes.
This was a fun one to do. Probably one of my favorite liveries of all time. The car wasn’t necessarily the fastest back in the day, but that probably had more to do with the terrible Toyota engine and Goodyear tires than it did the Eagle chassis. I thought about doing this on the IndyCar, but the design elements really only work on the more traditional bodywork of the Indy Lights car.

Flippin’ great Eagle Indy livery, looks spot-on for that chassis. The Oculus isn’t too shabby either. You have to be one of the best open-wheel painters on FM.net
