Every time I bid on a car and of course lose that bid I am still charged my bid price!
Did I miss the FinePrint or something?
you need to go back and reclaim those credits once the auction has finished if you lose

You have to go back to the car you placed a bid on once it’s over.
I know, it’s a little bit painful when you place a lot of bids =/
It occurs to me that this is garbage. If they can take money out of your account when you bid, they can certainly put it back after the auction is finished unsuccessfully for you. They know who bid. They know how much money was bid by each. And they notify you when you lose. They have all the information and the entire process needed to restore your money.
Correlation does not imply causation. You manually pay for bids, the game doesn’t automatically bid for you. There’s no “automatic funds transfer” for the auction house, having the functionality a possibility doesn’t mean it already exists. It’s how it works for all kinds of auction, selling, buying, bidding - you must visit the auction again to claim the car, the money, etc.
Nothing in the auction house can be done on the road and that’s for balanced auction gameplay rather than a “lazy oversight”.
Rather than being pessimistic and grasping straws to criticize it, realize what the new complaint would be if you bought a bunch of unicorns/barn finds and then couldn’t tell any of them apart because the game automatically resolved the auctions for you. It serves more as a “podium” but for the auction itself. As auctions can get exciting, it’s acceptable to make the player see what bid won. It’s also from a useful business standpoint where you can see how much you paid for that build of the vehicle so you can sell it again for better capital.

As was just stated, you need to reclaim your credits once you lose the auction. You haven’t lost anything. YOU need to reclaim them.

After the auction go to your messages and there will be messages relating to each auction if you won you can claim the car if you lost you can get your credits back.
I sold my pagani zonda c with a starting bid of 2mil some1 bid I claimed credits and I only got 1.8 mil so the auction house stole 200K of the money I was suppost to get and I want my money! Forza Plz I need my 200K that I didn’t get!
The auction house takes a fraction of your money as it allows you to sell cars. Don’t complain that it’s robbing you because it’s really doing you a favor. All of the Forza games on Xbox One before FH3 did not allow you to re-sell your cars in any way, shape, or form.

The Auction House claims a cut of the funds that you got. This is meant to be realistic, as an auction house IRL would do the same.
