Named after the first double F1 champion, this is Ascari’s first sports car. The early variants used a Chevy V8, but as with all later Ascaris, the production models were powered by BMW engines. The final three got a 5-liter 420 PS Hartge-tuned V8, which would propel it from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds. Thanks to a fiberglass body and spaceframe construction, the Ecosse weighed just 1250 kg. Interestingly, the first production Ascari was designed by Lee Noble who would go on to launch his own low-volume lightweight sports car company, Noble.
