It’s not often that I throw up my hands with something Forza related and ask for help. I’ve been around Forza for a long time. But I just cannot drive the Atom. I’ve tried about 4 different tunes from well known and talented creators. All are the same. It seems the car slides thru every turn no matter how fast I go. It’s impossible for me to properly attack a turn. I have gone from winning every race with drivatars set to unbeatable to not being able to get even close to third place with them set on the easiest difficulty. I almost never use TCS but on this car it doesn’t seem to help. How does one drive this car?
Was “tuned by Worm” one of the tunes you tried? I found that one made the car very driveable. Unfortunately there is a glitch with that tune that makes it look like a Flintstones car (instead of two rear wheels, you see a big pipe go across the entire width of the car.)
I made my own tune, because I got annoyed looking at the Flintstones mobile, but Worms tune was still a bit better handling.
Yep. His was the first I had tried. Completely not drivable for me. Just now I went back and tried it again. Huge difference. Huge. It was like someone flipped a switch and turned a lousy car into a great one. This leads me to believe the tunes were not loading properly. The upgrades were loading. All tunes I had tried were at the 900 PI level. I’m guessing the actual tune settings didn’t load. Has anyone ales experienced this problem with tunes not loading?
Not had that problem with the tune not loading - I could see from telemetry it was, but for sure I had a hard time with the Atom. The car has so much power, such little tires and no weight, it just plows ahead. I think it was more a case of my driving style changing to accommodate it than anything else that got me through the career races.
I did try tuning it myself using Worms tune to gather telemetry data from for a starting point, but I still couldn’t make it work for me…

I haven’t notice it in FM5 yet, but that used to happen all the time in FM4. So much that I would just always load tunes twice to be sure.
Well, thankfully I got a tune loaded and did pretty well with it. Got thru the career races on pro. Normally do it on unbeatable but at least it’s over. Still don’t like the car so much but now I can be done with it. Went from the Atom to the Aston Martin DBS. What a dream in comparison.
Invert the spring loads so you have more at the front than the rear, oh and stick traction control on! Mind you I prefer an understeering car.
I found I had the same problem, if you’re willing to tune yourself, try setting the rear town angle to negative 1, front +1. This gets the front in quick but a lot of mid corner under steer. The rear toe stops the car swinging around. I found the brake balance effects the car a lot! Set it really far back, the further back the more stable. The differential to about 50% on acceleration, this helps with oversteer on the exit. Max aero aswell.
Obviously other things like suspension Stiffness settings help too, but I’m not too sure how to tune that. If you’re still getting oversteer get more negative rear toe and more rear brake balance .
I found the car very drivable after doing these simple things.
Oh and race tyres, gotta have race tyres.
I have a tune of the Atom myself that is pretty reasonable sticky.
The little bit in the details gives a couple of tips for it’s use too.
Im not that great at tuning but as soon as I switched from sim steering to normal steering for the controller, Im driving it like a boss now

Normal steering made a huge difference for me personally
If you are using SIM steering, you could try setting your ARB’s so that the front to rear ARB bias is about 5% higher than the cars weight bias. So if the cars weight bias is 40% front 60% rear, your arb bias would be 45% front 55% rear. Then you can adjust it from there.

Please, how can I found the car’s weight bias?
Go Kart that’s nice.
I have a really good setup for a ariel atom in R class. Easy to drive, put a top 200 time on Catalunya. Search my name to find the tune in the game
