I played a ranked and it was Cross Country, then i got three Cross Country in a row, which I obviously quit before it started, and i waited an hour with all that matchmaking problems!!!
I don’t like Cross Country, why am I forced to play three in a row? It’s just boring to me.
I’m now playing Adventure mode (non ranked) a i got two Cross Country in a row, then a Street S2 and Cross Country again…please, stop it.
Such a terrible bunch of races. So little skill involved- instead you’re just hoping that by random chance your car doesn’t somehow tip over while doing one of the stupidly big jumps they shoehorn into every race, or praying that all the debris they make you plough through isn’t going to spin you out.
Not to mention to only cars that feel viable are the trucks. Hundreds and hundreds of cars in the game, yet every time this trash comes up in ranked adventure, everyone is in the same trucks.
And don’t get me started on Freeroam rush. STOP SHOEHORING CROSS COUNTRY NONSENSE INTO ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS. Whichever senior dev gave this the go-ahead needs his head checked. Zero skill required, makes so many cars obsolete, absolutely no relevance to dirt, road, or street racing… yet we’re forced to play half of every adventure.
I’ve seen some pretty awful dev decisions regarding multiplayer in my many years gaming, but whoever was in charge of the online on FH4… might well be the worse. The entire mode is completely crammed full of terrible, terrible decisions.
No, I like cross country, it is fun and there is a lot of skill involved. There are also plenty of offroad vehicles suitable for this race type. Just find the right one for you and tune it.
But I leave immediately on any S2 class Team adventure, that’s a cancer.
And Freeroam rush should not be a thing in any championship, I hate it, most annoying in road racing series.
I prefer the dirt tracks the most. Cross country is my 2nd favorite but only the point to point races. The circuit tracks with ramps and debris I could do without. I don’t care for road racing unless it’s technical circuit tracks but this is where the worst racing comes to fruition in this game. Wall riding and corner bombing. Ughhh.
Free Roam Rush is dumpster sauce as a ranked race. They should make an unranked adventure for people who enjoy that.
It’s been mentioned before in other threads on here but No one seems to know why this system has been buried in a lot of online games. The lobby system. Being able to join a lobby where they are racing what you want to race seems like a no brainer but it’s nonexistent in so many games anymore. It’s all random get thrown in with whoever stuff. Why is it this way? Does anyone know or is this like asking someone what the meaning of life is?
Get a Nissan Titan for Cross Country. Problem solved. I have one for A and S1 class. Free roam rush however, was a huge waste of time. I sometimes spend hours choosing what parts to put into my car to achieve the highest performance possible for the desired class as well as tuning it to perfection, only to spend another hour just getting into a race of said class, and hope to god it’s not Free roam rush. I prefer S1 class races. A class cars aren’t exactly a walk in the park to put together and S2 class favors cars hardly off the ground, with racing slicks, stiff springs and lose anti roll bars…the opposite of what’s needed for free roam rushes.
The problem here is not picking the right vehicle for the job, the problem is not everyone likes off-road and we have no option to choose what type of race we want and that’s bs.
Looks like y’all just haven’t been on at the right time. I’ve had my share of both. I’m trying to find out how to get in on the ranked races. Done over 50 of the others and still can’t get a ranked race.
That one is easy.
Switch to your favorite skill car and try to join a ranked adventure. Then drive in circles, drift, jump and destroy everything until you have 500.000 score. Get 10 skill points. Repeat.
If, by the off chance, you really find a team adventure, press X to accept. And wait some more. Sometimes, if the stars align, 11 other drivers will press X within the given time frame of 30 seconds.
And you got a race! There you go buddy, no cookies tho.
It’s easy to get like 30 to 50 skill points by just waiting for one event.
I tried and tried to get into an A class road race thats not winter. I bet I wasted a half hour matchmaking quick play adventures before I gave up.
I’m seeing a lot of duplicate adventures which tells me that were not even getting a full random adventure. Theres maybe 8 or 10 total available at any one time given server ping and what not.

I would LOOOOOOVE to play some B or C class races too but since playground decided those cars are just excluded outright from adventure mode I cant even try to race them in adventure without heavy modifications. As you can see I never managed to roll an A class road race at all, let alone a non winter one.
No. FH3 had that stupid voting system that made like 90% of the online adventures S1 or S2 tarmac, and 99% of the class specific adventures tarmac. Thank God they got rid of that system.
Only problem with offroad racing is user created.
Sorry, but that Lambo Veneno is not an offroad vehicle.
I blame the game designers for this aspect, by default, if you have no clue how to choose your own vehicle or are just too lazy, the game creators made a rally car the default offroad vehicle.
Cars can be used offroad, they just need to be tuned properly and MUST NEVER have street racing tires. Same for dirt racing. That Venevo is not the go to solution to every race.
Get the Honda Trophy Baja Trick and work with that, you’ll find offroad much more enjoyable.
They have already watered it down to the point I can manage offroad racing in a Sprite Mini.
For me I’m pieved that ever since the new DLC we have HAD TO play in the new DLC but even if I go to main- Land, And sign off it puts me back on the Island when I signed in. If the game was designed around this island,I doupt I would have bought it. It’s ok but like afore mentioned, everyrace is either Dirt or cross country. One of Forza’s better aspects was the choice. For the last 2 weeks I feel comppeled to play the island to complete the weekly objects. I use the Objects as challanging focal point. I feel it’s overpowerd on the dirt and jumps and rain. My God man it’s winter in most places, Gloomy weather and Holidays. Not a good combo. Just saying. Thanks for the time. I hope the Dev’s put a little more thought to directions there headed. Not a good start. Had I not purchesed the Ultimate Edition. I wouldn’t have bought this DLC.
I am fine with Dirt/Snow/asphalt/rain/etc… any class. (though I would love to see much less S2 and s1 and more c/b/a).
Cross Country is garbage - its mostly luck. (not getting pushed into obstacles or hitting a bump that sends you upside down/sideways). I could even handle this once in a while but like the OP there are some nights where session after session is Cross Country. Its frustrating to say the least.
Sounds like you don’t know how to tune off-road vehicles. I don’t end up upside down or get pushed into obstacles any more in cross country than in other events.
A.) BS
B.) Your tune is irrelevant to getting pushed
C.) Upside down and obstacles are absolutely much worse in Cross Country. This isn’t opinion - its fact. While there are a few street tracks that have a house here or major obstacle here or there, it is no where near the level of Cross Country. Getting flipped is 100 fold worse in Cross Country due to jumps, Large bumps, etc… (not including free roam “races” here). No matter how good your tune is you cant stop some dub from pushing you just as you cross a bump and end up sideways and flipping or landing on someones roof who hit the jump in front of you slow and then falling off and flipping off, etc…
If it ain’t your tunes it must be your driving. As I said, I don’t get pushed or flip my vehicle any more in cross country than in other disciplines. And a tip, if you want to be affected by rammers as little as possible, then make your vehicle as heavy as possible.
Not bored of it because some of those races I fun to do. I would prefer more street races, so that there is no blatant wall riding. Its nearly impossible to catch someone who’s mastered it
