The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione not being in FH5 is a travesty. But the upside is, I get to write about it. Using the most potent version of the 4,7-liter Ferrari/Maserati V8 to date, the 8C Competizione was launched to great fanfare in 2007, being touted as one of the most beautiful cars on sale. Harking back to the legendary Alfa Romeo sports cars from the 1950s, the 8C Competizione delivers on its racing pedigree. The naturally aspirated V8 develops 450 PS, delivered to the rear wheels through an F1-style automated manual. A roadster version was also offered later, built in 329 examples against the Competizione’s 500. Several concepts were built on the 8C’s platform, replacing the gorges carbon fiber shell with further reminders of the company’s rich heritage. The two most prominent ones are the TZ3 Corsa and Disco Volante, both remembering iconic Alfa Romeo sports cars. With rumours of Alfa Romeo releasing another coupe, let’s celebrate with bringing perhaps the best-ever road-going Alfa back to FH5.
