Advance Sim Controller Setting Tutorial

Hey guys,

So i have been playing this awesome demo for almost a whole day now (like everyone else lol) and i came to discover that if i port over my FM5 controller deadzones into FH2 the handling improves dramatically! (it’s darn near sim settings)

If you want to see your FM5 deadzone settings follow these steps: Home screen tile menu>> forza profile >> controller>> press “X” for advanced

Here’s what i ran in FM5 (these settings help resolve a lot of the sudden snap and twitch issues):

steering axis deadzone inside:…2
steering axis deadzone outside:…98
Accel. Axis D.Z inside:…2
Accel. Axis D.Z outside:…98
Decel Axis D.Z inside:…2
Decel Axis D.Z outside:…98
Clutch Axis D.Z inside:…10
Clutch Axis D.Z outside:…100
Handbrake Axis D.Z inside:…10
Handbrake Axis D.Z outside:…100
Vibration scale:…100

Now while in the Horizon 2 demo and I assume once the game is released it will be in the same place:

1.Press the menu button to pause the game. Then go into settings >> Controller>> and press “X”

  1. Now simply set the deadzones just like i posted above. (Note: Vibration scale is best left at 60 as FH2 doesn’t really use the rumble triggers too much)

Full disclosure: on difficulty I run:

Divatar: Pro
No ABS
Steering: Sim
Traction: on
Stability: off
shift: man/ w clutch
Driveline: brake only
damage: sim

If you can better fine tune these Deadzones please post here so we can all try them.

Dead Zones between 0-100 is the best settings in F5, (least twitchy) how it works in H2 I do not know because I have not tried the demo, but it should be the same.

0-100 for steering on horizon 2 works really well on the game pad, much better than default settings.

Didnt realise FH2 had the same Deadzone settings as F5…What are the reasons for not having it set to 0-100 in the first place? I’d imagine T10 & PG would have a reason for it.

Yea, I am experimenting with the settings to see if i can find a more sim set up for handling

Whilst my controller is behaving nicely all my deadzones are either 0 or 100.

Vibration seemed to default to 50% in Horizon demo.

I tried maxing out the vibration setting but all it resulted in was a very loud vibration that felt like the controller was about to break in two
