Adding Horizon 3 (or Halo 5 forge, Killer Instinct, Forza 6 Apex, and probably more) To steam

This is a handy 3rd party utility which has reached a point I can recommend. It will add UWP games to your steam list.

Is that even allowed?

Surely if MS, T10 and PGG wanted FH3 to be on Steam, it would already be there…?

It just makes it so you can add it to your steam library as a third party application. It doesn’t “add it to steam”. You’re just able to launch it from steam, steam just says you’re playing a non-steam game(it will also say the game you’re playing as well but it specifies a non-steam game). There’s nothing against that at all.

Basically the same as adding a shortcut on your desktop, but then on Steam instead

That would be correct.

If adding a shortcut to steam isnt allowed MS/T10/PGG need to take a SERIOUS look at their ToS because its absolutely absurd.

Hey, thanks for the support! I’m the dev

As others have said, there’s no problem in using UWPHook, as it is a separate EXE, and is not a rogue application since the only interaction between it and the game is calling a native Windows API so that Steam launches the game. Steam is actually only seeing UWPHook since it can’t find UWP games, but UWPHook is fooling Steam into thinking that you are playing Forza Horizon or any other game or app.

I thought Steam already does this natively? I know I’ve added games to my Steam dashboard that are not from the Steam store without any kind of tool.
