A Message to the Motorsport Community | January 2025

Until then over the next three months our updates will be new content only.

Explain. You can’t just drop that and not explain.

Good evening, I really don’t like the direction you are taking for fm23…

It’s been 5 minutes we want new tracks we’re going round in circles!

Stop resting on your laurels it’s been a long time since they gathered dust (15 months)

Struggling with the fact that the only new-to-the-franchise tracks have been…

Eagle Rock
Grand Oak
Hakone

…which are all fictional tracks. I get it. Don’t have to worry about licensing. Don’t have to sweat track accuracy. Don’t have to scan. But come on.

We’ve received recycled tracks for the better part of a year now… and we’re getting another (presumably, based on wording) recycled track in… half a year’s time?

What was dev time spent doing? Where’s the new content?

“Fan fav track” can mean Fujimi, Monza, Long Beach, etc. anything from past tracks sitting in that big ol’ recycle bin.

Fans can keep voting on tracks, but my hopes for a legitimate, non-fictional track that’s actually new to Forza is down to about 1%. So much for wanting Imola in the mix lol.

@T10ManteoMax I can understand you have many delays and cancellations. But are we getting a track for Update 18 as well? Or will this year be rotated from less cars and more tracks to more cars and less tracks?

Come on Turn 10, don’t give up.

Working on FH6 as well. I think it’s very obvious now that they have stopped working actively on expanding and improving the game. It’s on life support now and potentially entering the last year of being supported.

I think it’s perfectly acceptable if it’s fujimi kaido

There is enough time until May for AC Evo to get some content… Disrespect that we got from T10 after releasing this trainwreck of a game is something I never expected… Very sad…

Honestly I’m hyped, we’re getting all new cars, sure, no track until may, but if it’s fujimi kaido then it will all be worth it. The last roadmap said Sunset Peninsula was going to return. They didn’t name the track this time because it’s probably fujimi kaido. They want to surprise us, and if it’s kaido, then this game might explode in popularity. I know a lot of you guys have lost faith in the series but I think they know what they’re doing this time around.

Yes, if it really is a new version of Fujimi-Kaido, then I think it will more than make up for four months of modest updates (although adding ca. 10 cars per month is not so modest IMO)

EDIT: Besides, I suppose this mysterious new track is not the only headline feature planned for May. I wouldn’t be surprised if T10 decided to invest more time in cooking one substantial update, packed to the brim with long anticipated features (like expanded career mode), taking inspiration from games like Automobilista 2^, when they realized that monthly updates with small amounts of novelties released at once don’t give them the engagement boost they desire.

So maybe it’s not about winding down the development of the game but simply changing the approach after all?

^ For those who are unfamiliar with AMS2: Reiza Studios released just one massive update for their sim in the last year (1.6), accompanied by 3 DLC packs, and with that push they achieved a substantial (and persistent) gain of new players.

Realistically we are looking at the end of support this year for FM23 and almost certainly it’ll be the last game in the series or at least for a very long time

I expect this will also give them more time to work on fixes, bugs , A.I. etc which is okay by me.

Yep.

This basically means they can no longer continue working on substantial updates since players are no longer there.

They are almost certainly moving to a new project.

I’m trying so hard not to get hyped for Fujimi Kaido

For about 10 minutes.

Fujimi Kaido is a meme. It’s only appeal is to kids whose only exposure to Japan and it’s culture all came from Initial D. It was horrible to race on when it was in the game, and Turn 10 loved putting you in races with horribly overpowered cars and lots of traffic all over it. Adding Fujimi Kaido back to this game would be akin to drinking a Red Bull on one hour of sleep. You’ll get that big boost for a week, and then after the kids have gotten all of their TikTok clips, the crash comes on fast.

If you don’t like fujimi kaido then what do you like about forza? I’m sorry but you never really have anything positive to say about this game, whether in its present state or the future. Sorry if I came off as rude.

If it was Fujimi then I can see no reason why they wouldn’t have named it. They know that it’s extremely popular and they know that the rest of that announcement will go down like a lead balloon. Having the hype that track is coming would help retain engagement until May.

I’m afraid it’s far more likely that we are in run-off mode now, earlier than anticipated, and that the new track will simply be another FM7 one revisited - probably Monza or Long Beach.

The bigger the surprise (and drama around it), the bigger the shockwave across the internet. At least that’s what AAA publishers seem to believe in with announcements like this

Fujimi kaido might return, but with a different layout design and a different look.

“New content only”
What about all the missing cars from previous games!?! Not counting SUVs and pickups, isn’t it around 200? Not having the 71’ Mach 1 is still a bummer to me.
Also, what about Freeplay options/content?

Everything else that didn’t involve Fujimi Kaido (or it’s Italian counterpart in Motorsport 3 and 4). There’s more to Forza than just drifting and AE86 Corollas.

Look at what they’ve given us before, and look at what we have now. This game couldn’t hold a candle to Motorsport 5, and Motorsport 5 was already a low point. Now it’s increasingly likely that we won’t even get back even a majority of the content from the last game.

Tell me, what should I be positive about?
