This is my first challenging (at least for me) livery recreated from photo’s from the WRC cars from 2006/2007. For me the livery from Subaru that I recognize. It took me a lot of hours to get this far and now it is ready for the public to download. I still want to make a few changes but for now this is the best I could do.
You can find it by searching for livery on my gamertag T1NM4N NL.
Tinman, you have made a good start to the livery but i think you need to work on the main subaru badge more to make it accurate, the lines are a bit off.
How did you construct? Did you use the ingame Subaru Manufacturer logo and trace the shapes or was it all just from source image?
I would suggest trying this to get you going in game and understanding logo creation. Its not a fast thing to do painting liveries but time spent in logos will really help.
Thanks for the constructive responso ABGRAPHICS. I’affraid I do not understand your last part, what should I try to do, trace the image from the logo or create it by hand till it is better?
This design is entirely made by hand not traced from the Subaru logo. The logo’s are Layer groups and the stripes are “free drawn” on the side of the car. I admit that I had som trouble with creating them as smoot that I wanted them. Those are a few of the points I wanted to change
I quite like the Subaru, it shows a great first effort. AB makes a good point, it would probably help to download a few logos and “reverse engineer” them. The Pirelli logo stands out as one that would make a good comparison. In the old days I would have gifted some logos over for you to take apart and work with but I guess that doesn’t exist anymore.
It’s a learning process, the more you do it the better you’ll be. (says the guy who’s managed to finish only a single car)
Regarding the Pirelli logo, you mean download a better logo from the storefront en trace that? Why didn’t I think of that myself! let’s see if I have the time to do this this week. If I overwrite my shared design from the Subaru is this automaticly shared with the new designs? Or do I have to unshare it en share it again?
Tinman, If you do anything to change your currently shared design like overwriting it … not only will it unshare it, but you will also lose your current star rating on the design and all count of downloads, likes and uses will be reset to 0. If you do want to continue working on and improving your design, you can always save it using a different file name to keep your current stats, ratings, etc. in tact.
Just a quick comment, Viper. It sounds as if you are being a little critical of AB’s comments. (If that was not your intent, I apologize.) I’ve been around the forums here long enough with AB to be confident that any criticism he may be giving out is purely constructive criticism and he truly is interested in helping other artists … particularly new ones … improve.
