bugs in lots of cars over the years

Bugs are issues with the game running, this is a modelling error

Sadly there will be way more. Only think you can do is hope for a fix or if its a livery issue someone from the community will make a correct design

Doesn’t it depend on the source car? I don’t know if it’s aftermarket or OEM, but that “bad” front bumper actually does exist for the AE86, as seen here: A Brief History of the Toyota AE86 Corolla | Japanese Nostalgic Car

Not original its tuning :frowning:

I think it may just be a stock variant of the AE86

edit: nvm I’ve just noticed it looks different to the one posted, but now I’ve spotted the mistake, it’ll irritate my OCD forever…

Tecnically, the car in the game is an '86. the '85’s had different bumpers. Assuming they’re using the North American Corolla GTS version as their model.

It all depends on the source car.

Clearly not a modelling bug so it’s highly unlikely that it will be “fixed” as there is nothing wrong with it.

In the past 2 forza games the ae86 hasn’t been fully paintable. There’s a matte black plastic looking coating on the entire side of the car. This is entirely inaccurate to real life where it’s just gloss black paint. So i ask, in Forza Motorsport 6 has this been corrected? This is a big deal to me as its my favorite car and in FH2 i drive it almost exclusively. I absolutely love designing car paint jobs in Forza and with these constraints it’s almost impossible to make a good looking design. I’m at the point with Turn 10s blatant ignoring of there fans that ill chose to boycott and not purchase the game if this bug is in it. If someone from Turn 10 happens to read this i have seen at least 10 threads about this and at least 100 comments on other sites such as Youtube asking for this exact change, and just know behind every one of those 10 fed up people, there’s 10’s of thousands of people who would greatly enjoy the change to this iconic car.

Thank you for reading if this is fixed and i’m ranting for nothing i look forward to playing your game!

As the featured car is based on the GT Apex it left the factory with black painted arches regardless of body color. In this respect the modelling is correct. The problem T10 face is that the arches have to remain black when allowing a player to select standard colors once they buy the car in the same way black plastic components on cars remain black plastic when you select an alternative paint. If the arches were body colored I’m sure a lot of purists would be quick to point out the “error”.

The solution would be to make it so the black on the car is only overridden when you place decals on the car, Not when you change the base color. Its not hard to figure out, they already have the formula Forza 4, and Horizon had it that way and it was perfect.

Going off of youtube videos Forza 6 has the Horizon 2 model. It doesn’t even have the stock paint on the front bumper so more than likely it can’t be painted. At lest Forza 5 had the factory panda paint job correct.

Just google Toyota gt86 Trueno or Toyota gt86 Trueno Apex and take a look at the images. You’d be surprised how more often than not, they match the car modeled in the game - so again - there is no error on the car in the game; it is simply one particular model or variation of the car they had modeled.

If they make this particular car have an option to leave the black plastic look and apply decals over the top, or remove the black plastic look when applying decals then they would in turn have to do that for every other car that has stripes, plastic, factory options etc and that’s a lot of work. It also depends on what their licensing agreement is and how it pertains to vehicle modification - yes painting and applying decals is a modification and yes that is covered in the licensing agreement along with damage and all sorts of other things.

There is an error it should not be matte gray it should be gloss black. I don’t think you guys are getting what i’m saying, i want it to stay with the two tone i just want the black to actually be black and to be shiny. Then i want to be able to overwrite it in the decal editor. This is not a problem with licensing, this is just Turn 10 thinking the entire side is covered in plastic, when its actually just a two tone paint scheme. BTW i own an AE86 in real life, trust me i know how the car should be.

I know what you mean. The front bumper should be black and the body color raps around the front bumper and stops at the marker lights. I live, eat, breath and sleep this car so tiny things bug. And since it has the Horizon 2 matte black bumper cover it probley can not be painted.

Ok so here are some pics i took today in Horizon 1:

First, this is how the stock 86 should look, with the shiny two tone.

Here are some paintjobs that were possible in the previous Forzas, but wont be anymore.

And here is Forza 6 not looking promising at all, notice the front bumper and compare it to the first picture, the base color is missing as Roller1986 also said

Honestly i don’t get how this hasn’t been corrected yet, this is one of the, if not the most iconic JDM cars ever. PLEASE T10 I BEG YOU TO FIX THIS

Someone decided to combine my thread with this one for some reason… ok… whatever. Just saw a video with the ae86 and it is still not paintable so it looks like i wont be getting the game till it’s fixed. T10 devs probably don’t even look at these forums so does anyone know their email or post address? I tried forzafb@microsoft.com but i got an auto reply saying they dont read it or something
