It can get pretty warm on a sunny afternoon in Positano. The cafes and bistros do a brisk business in cold drinks, and it takes some efficient hauling to keep them supplied. Every year about this time, there is a race to determine which beverage distributor gets the contract for the next tourist season.
Have some fun and win yourself a prize car. Here is the formula for success. Your car must be in F Class, and has to wear the livery of a beverage manufacturer or distributor. An interesting match would be an A-H Sprite decked out in “Sprite” paint job. Famous race sponsors like Red Bull, Coca-Cola and Budweiser are also obvious choices.
The race is 10 laps long. If you post a replay showing you completed the race in 13:30 or less…YOU WIN. The prizes will each be something from Italy.
I’ll keep this one running until August fifth.
My replay is on my storefront. Not bragging, but it’s OK. 13:26.xxx
Posted a modest time of 11:55:761 . All clean laps on the replay i sent to you . Thanx forr setting up the challenge , gave me a good excuse to make up another Carlsberg livery .
This might not be the best horse for this course, but if you’re waiting for your delivery at the Uptown Bar, you definitely know when he’s getting close:
After a couple of dirty attempts ( the dirty lap punishment is sometimes strange, not really fair, isn’t it !!! but that’s another thing…)
i managed a 10 clean lap race in 11:49.616 - replay on store
to bring in a bit of italian spirit, the car of choice was a 1986 #10 MartiniRacing AlfaRomeo Spider ;))
Nothing was said about needing to have all clean laps; some participants were noting they accomplished this, but only a “best lap” is required to be a clean one…
Sorry i did not mean the rules of the challenge
Some corners you can cut completely and nothing happens
In other turns you have to touch the curb a little bit too much and bang lap is dirty
Especially at positano, that’s what i wanted to say
ahhhhh. so sorry; I thought you were hampered by ambiguity in my instructions. I really did a poor job with my initial post about Forty miles of Bad Road, for example.
Your prize car has been sent. Everyone got essentially identical Alfas, except for livery. Hang on to these, because we will definitely be using them for a D Class race in the future.
interest seems to have died out, so let’s close this one… if anyone is in the act of trying this challenge, send me a replay because I still have a few prize cars pre-painted, pre-tuned and ready ot send out…
