Is there some type of pit bug or exploit at this track?

I was in a league race (C-Class FWD) with about 5 other players. Around the 5-6th lap I saw two guys on my map (not out my windshield, they were a good 1000 feet ahead of me because I pitted early) pit at the same time. I didn’t pay much attention to them individually because I was just seeing how much time I could make up on them while they were in the pits.

Before I knew it one of the drivers was 1000’ ahead of the guy he pitted with. I thought that was a bit strange, and that was the same player who happened to win the race by 600 feet. At the end of the race I noticed his lap times were 5 seconds a lap slower than mine - 8 lap race, 5 seconds a lap? Every one of his laps was dirty (no surprise at Yas Marina - my clean laps were 5 seconds quicker than his dirty laps). I wish I saved the replay, but I was kind of busy checking everyone’s times.

Is this a known exploit?

Did they end up coming first? I faced the same problem a lot of times. There is a glitch in the system. I forgot to save the replay too but thankfully I had a screengrab video recording on and I will be posting about it!

The player did win, barely. Despite his corner cutting and what-ever bug this was I whittled his lead down to 600 feet before the race ended.
