I had a 250Gb xbox, played Forza 4 since the day it came out. I had tons of cars and money, but the hard drive in the system crashed. So, Microsoft was kind enough to give me a new one. Now I am trying to play 4 again, but I have no save. Sucks, but hey, I can do it all again. One thing that I would like back is my designs. They are in my storefront, I can sell them, but I can not use them because I have not downloaded them and I can not purchase my own stuff.
And before the whole “message forzafb@microsoft.com” stuff. I did, 2 months ago when this all started. That was the 7th time I’ve emailed them since 2008, still have never gotten anything solved. Turn 10 has a black hole for customer service. I’m hoping somebody else has had this problem and knows a solution.
Nothing can be done unless you can recover the folders from the old hard drive, or you will need to re create them. Nothing anyone can other than that unfortunately.
Man, this kind of thing really sucks. As Funky says, without access to your save files, there is nothing that can be done about it.
I know this comes too late for you, but there is something people can do to backup their own designs.
- Put the car into the Auction House.
- Then cancel the auction
- Change to a different Gamesave on a USB drive or the Cloud or even the M.U. (I prefer the Cloud as USB’s can be very unreliable)
- Resolve the Auction - the car, paint and tune will go into the garage of that Gamesave and now exists in both
I feel your pain. If you need cars or credits, send me a friend request
