I find it really weird how working digital clocks still haven’t been readded in any Horizon game ever since Forza Horizon 2. It’s a nice detail and would help driving in interior view feel even more immersive. Seeing them be permanently stuck on 12:00 just feels a bit sad. They’re already in Forza Motorsport 8. They don’t have to match the real world time, but could match the time in-game like in The Crew Motorsport.
Agreed, I can’t comprehend why Forza Motorsport games have working clocks inside cars but not Forza Horizon. It could boost immersion in simple yet meaningful way.
Because the day cycle is artificial. In all Horizon games, seemingly 6 too, the time progression speeds up by 100s of times when it hits about 6pm so that night time is over in a few minutes, and we get this bland and boring constant daytime.
That makes sense, though the devs could still make the clocks match in-game time like in The Crew Motorsport
You’re right, time in the game moves very quickly, but in Forza Horizon 1 and Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox 360 version only), the digital clock inside the cars did work; it moved incredibly fast, like one in-game minute every two to three real-world seconds, I think. It’s not that they can’t do it now because digital clocks aren’t functional, but in Forza Motorsport they always displayed the time from the Xbox console or PC. It’s a simple feature that would be a nice addition.
