deadline: sunday, february 16, 2014 11.59pm pst (gmt -8); voting will run until friday, february 21 11.59pm pst.
the rules

your entry MUST be a close-up. you must not be able to see the entire car.

one entry allowed with a maximum of two extras. label each accordingly.

photos should be within the forum size limit. bigshots are allowed, but must be within forum limits.

NO outside editing, other than flipping your shot if necessary. you can crop out the watermark if you want as well.

all tracks/environments allowed, but NO autovista or homespace shots.
-
all modifications are allowed.
-
no custom liveries this round, other than painting your car a solid color. i’d like to avoid shots like this.

you must vote for three pictures to be eligible to receive prizes.

you cannot vote for yourself.

you may only vote if you have entered the current round.

please only enter shots you haven’t entered in any other comps. old entries are acceptable as extras.

if you enter a shot taken by somebody else, you will be permanently banned from any future comp i hold.

for those of you that don’t know, a macro shot essentially focuses on a small detail, making that detail the only subject of your photo. (wiki definition can be found here). if you aren’t sure if your shot is eligible, feel free to send me a pm and i’ll let you know.
scoring per round
each vote will be worth one point.
i will cast any tie-breaking votes at the end.
new this year, i will be holding RVM/HMA trivia relating to john’s newest articles. you must pm me your responses (one allowed per trivia question). each correct answer grants you half a vote.
championship scoring
the top 10 vote-getters from each round will receive the following championship points:

at the end of the season, the top three scorers will receive overall prizes.
prizes per round
1st: fm4/fh unicorn of choice + 100,000 cr (fm5) + fm5/fm4/fh DLC of choice (includes fm4 porsche pack and fh rally pack. does not include season passes or vip status)
2nd: fm4/fh unicorn of choice + 100,000 cr (fm5)
3rd: fm4/fh unicorn of choice + 100,000 cr (fm5)
unlike last year, if you place in the top three, you can pick a unicorn from either game, regardless of which game you used for your shot.
the winning photo will be featured in john’s weekly RVM article.

you MUST have xbox live gold (by the end of the voting period) to receive prizes. if you score in the top three and only have silver, your prizes will be passed to the next highest eligible winner. you will still receive your full amount of championship points.
