Is there anyone that knows for sure if designs made in FM5 will be transferable to FH2? I am planning to put alot of gameplay into the new Horizon. If it is confirmed somewhere that you can transfer over designs like FM4 to FH then that would be great. That would mean i could start making designs and vinylgroups right now, untill the game releases.
There is a stickied thread appropriately titled “What We Know So Far”, smack dab on the top of these forums. So far, we know nothing about transferring designs.
I don’t have an official answer, but I know it was the case with the first Horizon.
I’d be quite frankly shocked if this isn’t the case. The ability to transfer designs should be a standard feature at this point.

I Agree … Though … Those with 360s do not be surprised … if you cant transfer your FH 1 to FH 2 … Nothin against Turn 10 … even though the 360 version will still run from the FH1 engine … I feel like there is a possibility … it wont be there … but yes for Xbox One owners … there really isn’t any reason we shouldn’t have that feature

You could transfer from Fm4 or Horizon, so it would only make sense if you could transfer from Fm5 to Horizon 2. I’m not sure tho, but I hope.
I also hope they let us transfer our stuff from FM5 to H2, but I really hope they let us “Sell” our vinyls again, this sharing thing is just messed up, I used to see my vinyls being used, and made good money, now, not so much, but they also never came back out with the auction-house ether… so guess if it’s “All about driving” I hope T10 blows my mind like they did with FM3-4, those we’re great games, that I still play to this day.

I would assume vinyls yes but doubt you can do full designs. I think I remember reading something about each game having distinctly different car builds or models for each game, even with same cars in the different titles, so the designs wouldn’t work when transferring, but your vinyls would.

IF it’ll be possible to use/transfer the FM5 vinyls to FH2, I hope it’s not done the same way it was between FM4 and FH. With a lot of vinyls in FM4, it sometimes took me 30-45 minutes just to load the FM4 vinyls in FM4 if I had used them in FH, and the same time if I did it the other way around. That was not fun. The kind of transfer that was possible between FM3 and FM4 would clearly be preferable.

Since our saves are stored on the cloud, it would only make sense if they could transfer. Especially since they’ve done it before with FM4/Horizon.

It would be awesome of this is possible, I’d love to be able to use some of the designs I’ve already done for cars that are in both games. You can do this now, importing Forza 4 liveries and vinyls into Forza Horizon 1. C’mon, make this happen (if it’s not already in the game!)

I hope not.
Why not? Wouldn’t it be easier for people, especially those who aren’t master painters - to be able to transfer their own designs (unlocked only) between games rather than having to take a potentially long time to create the same layers and designs twice?
I’ll elaborate on my stance : It’s a fantastic idea for the One version, but a terrible idea for the 360 version. Stolen designs in FM4/FH (360 games) are a huge plague. It may just be me, but I’d prefer to start fresh when the past is very dirty. I haven’t read much of stolen designs in FM5, so my reason is void for the One version of FH2. In short, I’d be happy if it’s a feature exclusive the One version.
