Why does the new open wheel car feel like a drift car
'Cause you are mashing the accelerator?
This!
Most peoples reaction is its glued to the track. Try my tune called Atlanta if you want it more glued to the track.
Sorry was a double post
SatNiteEduardo, how much does this extra grip slow it down if any? A lot of really good handling cars do so at the expense of giving up speed. Just wondering if this tune does as well
All added grip comes at the expense of speed, if the added grip is achieved by means of added downforce. Finding the balance is key, which is why the players with top LB times have a tune for each track for their favourite cars.
I love the new Indy Light, it is a bit more prone to rear end slides than the other cars in its class, but not to the point of it being difficult to drive at all.
I’m having the same drift-away experience. Ok so yeah I’m mashing the gas and haven’t tried to tune yet, but still. ![]()
There are two explanations in your post.
My tune should be renamed go kart. Yes its more grip, less speed. Adding speed to this car does not make it run quicker lap times in my testing.
Thanks Eduardo I will look for a go kart tune tomorrow evening ![]()

For me , the speed comes from the car being a bit easier to drive. Soften the rear end, fiddle with the diff and give it a few clicks of rear wing. Done.
I would assume your referring to the slide that’s occurring in high speed sweepers? I balanced out the aero and stiffened up the bump because the stock setting would cause the nose to dive and unloading the rear of the car. I went with rebound around F= 2.5 R= 2.1 and bump F/R= 12.0 and that really did the trick. I did soften the springs a touch and the rear bar down 1.4.
