Why do all Rally Events (racing events) have restrictions?

Why cant i take “a” Rally car and have fun with it. I get it that there are Horizon Festival events that are more curated. But every event has restrictions. And if i use a “Solo” Eventtype then it doesnt count towards Festival points. Are there any Rally Events without restrictions?

The point is if i pick my fav Rally Car and its a Retro Rally type and all events are Modern Rally (and they are btw!) whats the use of picking my favourite car?

Also: Was is in previous games? That each and every event has restrictions? Werent there some without?

All festival playlist events have some sort of restrictions…

Just choose custom racing if you want to use a specific car or class. Of course if it is a playlist event then you will be restricted.

Custom race is only available after you beat the event for the first time (with those restrictions)

Remember too that any event restriction that says “Total” means that all sub-categories are allowed - ie Total Rally allows Retro, Classic and Modern Rally.

You’ll find that a lot of the races unlocked by a given wristband will have similar restrictions/levels (ie they’ll probably all be A-class), which helps you keep the same car in rotation for multiple races. However, if you don’t like that class/category then you’re going to be stuck with it for a while.

Do those restrictions go away when you get the last wristband?

Once you beat a race event you can set a custom race on that track with any restrictions you want.

When you set a custom race, can you save the setup so that you can reuse it without having to set it up again?

That I’m not sure of. I’d imagine you can probably save it as a blueprint somehow, since it looked like a similar interface to how things used to work in FH4.

People keep saying you have to ‘beat’ the festival event, to clarify, you have to finish, you do not have to win.
