Why did the take away the button assignment to directly bring up the map? You now have to bring up the main options screen and then choose the map.
Why di the make it so if you want to use the clutch you have to choose Manual/w clutch to even see the clutch. That takes away the ability to use Automatic and use the clutch pedal as the e-break.
Things like this worked great in H2 and H3 so why change things up?
Being an auto guy, I have the same button setup, and dedicated map button.
I tried manual in the once, it didn’t register at that instant, but doing that did away with my deficated map button, the double box button was now what was assigned to enter events, and the X was I believe the down shift. I hated. I only realized what caused this when I went back to auto😁
On Xboxone X with a TX wheel. The old “map” button was the double-square button and the button you used to enter Festivals, or select other things was the left gear paddle. Now the paddles are not u and the double squared is used to select things. Nothing has changed on my setup so it has to be the game. The buttons I can learn to live with. The no clutch pedal is a different thing
Not that know of. But like I said, the button issue I can learn to live with, the clutch pedal not being available is a whole other thing. Almost game breaking for me when it comes to drifting, which I despise, but have to do for Forzathons.
Wow! I’m honestly jealous of you for never having the map problem before this. I’m playing on Xbox, with a controller, and I have ALWAYS had to open pause, and then open the map, because I’ve also always played with manual gears. I’ve dealt with that since the first Horizon game! (I am not putting you down by saying I’m tough and can handle it. I hate that they make me do this and I’m doubly annoyed that auto players haven’t had to. Even more annoyed that they yanked it from under you!)
I had no idea anyone was able to go straight to the map except people unfortunate enough to own Kinects and use them. You just blew my mind
As far as the drifting, I can’t solve your button issue (which again, I’ve never had that problem, but, I see and acknowledge you, that s a serious issue to deal with), but I can at least tell you that there are ways around it. You would have to change up your driving style, which might too big of an ask, but if you get used to a rear biased brake setup and practice your pendulums, you won’t need the clutch. A hard stab of brakes and a bit of turn in, right at corner entry, will generally get the rear of the car to swing around the opposite way. Even more so if you steer away from the corner right before steering into it and braking. With the rear unbalanced and the front tires temporarily more grippy thanks to inertia, all you should need to do to maintain the slide from that point is a healthy dose of throttle and carefully managed countersteer
Then again that supposes that the game will hold a gear through a drift on Automatic, which I dunno if it does. It might not be possible for you after all! I’ll try it myself later today. But I have faith in you; if I can drift on a pad with no clutch, you can drift on a wheel with no clutch.
also im sorry if any of this post seems patronising. I’m just hoping that maybe I can help at least somebody find a workaround for that auto trans drifting problem, and I’m bad at explaining how to do stuff in a clear, concise way
