Why can’t we upgrade cars after a multiplayer race?

When a multiplayer race finishes there’s no option to upgrade your car for the next race.
It is annoying to have to exit to the main menu, choose the car you want to upgrade and then after upgrading return to multiplayer and find a race again.

The way it’s done for single player where you can upgrade after a race works great, so why’s that feature not used in multiplayer?

Imagine how great it would be if we could customise upgrades in the lobby itself.

I think this is a good idea. Can’t imagine why they don’t have this enabled.

Maybe I’m being dim but can’t you just upgrade your car in the practice session for the next race?
