Why aren't the developers focusing on improving cockpit and first-person sounds?

Nearly plaguing every car in the game, the cockpit and first-person sounds are extremely weak, hollow, and lack impact. I have to shift to chase cam to enjoy the sound or even know when to shift.

However, the developers continue to ignore “community feedback” on cockpit and FP sounds which have been feverishly reported since last year!

When is this getting addressed? Rear-engine cars like the 458, 911s, classic and modern V8s, and many others, are no fun to drive as they sound like a hollow tincan just creating noise.

individual cars have already been reported, some of them even bug-logged.

When will the quiet, muted, and tiny cockpit and bumper/bonnet cam sounds on the road be addressed???

Probably never. From my experience only a tiny minority of the playerbase is unhappy with the way the game sounds. There’s a ton of more important issues that need to be fixed first.

But they have improved a number of car sounds, perhaps, not at a rate that’s ideal but every update or so, a few sounds get improved.

However, I’m irked at the fact that issues reported since last year and early this year have still not been addressed.

Also, the fact that you said “a tiny minority of the playerbase is unhappy with the sounds” is flatout inaccurate. You are not taking into account the comments and feedback on Reddit, web articles, Facebook, Discord, and other online channels - not to mention at least two sound threads here with close to or over a hundred pages by now if not a thousand, AND the individual sound threads reported by multiple users with many votes and “bug logged” status.

It’s quite upsetting to go from a car that sounds alright to one that sounds BRILLIANT to another one that sounds really, really poor. I really want to see this gap bridged and them make more effort to nail the character of each car. It’s 2024, we have the tech, so what is their excuse now? They were making far better car sounds in the X360 days!!!

Most people are not happy with the sounds, especially those who own fast cars or have been around cars almost all their lives. If Forza wants to take itself seriously then it has to replicate the true sound character of each car - otherwise, it’s just another cartoon-like car game IMO.

The nice thing about releasing games with thousands of problems is that when they only fix a small fraction of them, they can pat themselves on the back saying “we’ve made a couple hundred updates to show we’re listening to the community” while simultaneously saying “nothing is perfect and we can’t satisfy everyone.”

Well…. They’re right on that last bit.

I get that, they can’t keep everyone happy but it seems they didn’t even try to replicate the cockpit sounds properly. Do you even remember how mind blowing the car sounds were on the Xbox One launch game? FM5…

Yeah, there are many aspects of the game where it seems like they didn’t even try.
