Huh? Which others? Every car I’ve looked at with a bonnet that opens to the engine has let me open the boot as well. I don’t ever recall being able to open the bonnet on a car but not the boot.
Everything on the Enzo opens for me. Front boot, rear engine bay, doors and that.
That’s the rear engine bay Eduardo. I mean the latched cover in front of the driver on the auto union. I assume there’s some suspension gubbins and stuff under there.
Well you cannot open the hood when you perform an engine swap. I noticed that on the Lexus IS. As soon as I put a different engine in it, the bonnet is missing its open trigger. Sometime triggers are placed a bit unfortunate aswell. On the Audi S2 Avant, you can´t select the paint trigger in Forzavista. And some cars can only open their roof if you use the other side of the car to rigger it. So my guess is, that the trigger is either completely absent or the game does not trigger it correctly to show up.
Considering it’s probably hard to get hold of one for modelling purposes, maybe they just couldn’t do that part due to time issues or agreements, or did it from design documents and had no reference pictures that were up to quality?
Is it definitely because of the engine swap or because of a bodywork swap? I only say this because I’ve noticed on some cars you can no longer turn the headlights on if you change the front bumber or hood and it adds other lights or something.
Well, yeah, there is that I suppose. I just wondered. I remember having a problem with the Aventador. Couldn’t open the engine cover on that for some reason. Can do now though.
Was definetly because of the engine swap. Because I switched it on the Lexus IS and knew I can open the bonnet on that one, but as soon as I put a different engine in, the rigger point for opening the bonnet was gone. I never noticed the headlight thing tough.
The bonnet on any car is locked once you do an engine swap or an aspiration change - assume it is so they didn’t have to try and realistically model the changes or manufacturers had issue with it in regards to licensing. Either way - change engine or aspiration and you can no longer open the bonnet.
It would be because the engine swaps are unlicensed and un branded. That was needed to ensure we could use engines other than within the same manufacturer like it was in past games. It is like an unfortunate by product of the added swaps people wanted and is due to licensing issues.
