Just wondering because I feel like I’m doing a bit much…I have traction control and stability control turned off and braking is off…is that too much? Because it feels like I have no real control over the car…
I take it your really new to drifting then buddy? Not to worry. no you havnt done to much is the answer to your question. Having Stability management and traction control off allow you to spin the wheels and get angle while you drift.
The art of drifting is “Driving a car that is out of control while maintaining control”
as for having no control of what the car is doing may be down to your tune setup (if any)
im gonna need some info off ya
What Car you using?
What BHP are you running?
And any tuning you have done so far?
Give me that info and we can go from there mate.
also add me on XBL and we may be able to drift together and i could give you some pointers and help you with your tune setup.
Just keep at it and you will be rewarded…trust me
Hey i remembered a page i used for Forza 4 when i tuned a Mustang. If you convert the values so you can put em in the tuning setup page it MIGHT work.
The mustang i had on FM4 could fly into a corner rip it with angle and fly away on the straight. Havent tried it on FM5 yet. hoping it might yield better results as the physics are that much more realistic now. FM 4 tunes just about cut it but i think it could be better.
Anyway heres the site gove it a look and see what happens

Yeeeah buddy, I read that same article a long time ago off moto iq and been using that for every car ever since. It really works. If you didnt know its written by Mike Kojima whos very very respected in the community. Very knowledgeable man, and hes not just a drift mechanic, not just a grip guy, he does it all so he knows the workings of a car and suspension inside and out as if it were the own lines on his palm. Very interesting read if anyone hasnt read that article yet i suggest that you do to improve your abilities of driving either in real life, or forza.
I use nothing except ABS.
doesnt really help the guy saying that. maybe give some pointers. More people who help the new ones the better in my opinion, you know the more heads or summit like that.
I read the title and replied. Lol. I didn’t read anything else because I was busy. I’ll edit this post shortly.
Basically everything that’s been said in this thread; what car, horsepower, torque, etc do you have? You don’t want too much HP, but using ABS is more of a personal preference than anything. I use it because I like to use all of my brakes, but I have drifted with people that do not use ABS.
Like he said, keep traction control and stability management off. After that, it’s just practice.
Not all that great…No…haha…But currently mostly I’m using the Shelby GT500 07’ it’s got 994 horses, torque 783 lb-ft…as far as tuning goes, I haven’t even tried I bought a high rated drift tune from the marketplace…I’m into collecting as many cars as possible, so I’ve got a number of drifters…I’m a fan of RWD for drifting…

I recommend you use cars with less than 650. Honestly, 1,000 is a bit much for drifting. If you ever got into battling, everyone uses 650> in their cars.

right ok… try a 240SX with about 300/450 bhp be enough to get the rear end out but not too much to over power the car. as you get used to the car you can increase the bhp to suit your skill best way to go really.
Thank you for the responses, I’m actually getting a lot better! Medaled a couple times…seems like the more I play in the lobbies the better I get…now I just have to figure out how to do my own tuning…
