Video : How to Optimize a Balance Build

This Is Pre tuning for beginners who are new to the game before Forza 7 Comes out. I will do a In depth Tuning guides For Car Suspension,Transmission, and Differentials after the release of Forza 7.

Your information is better than most calculators and guides on this forum.

Thanks

I guess we differ, but a balance build to me almost always has rear wing for downforce, maybe a cage (they arent useless) and never cams. Don’t even consider them since most tracks the car never gets a chance to tap into top end power.

Conceptually speaking, you drove home the difference between speed and grip tunes and how there are numerous ways to build a car to fit between the extremes.

Thanks I appreciate the feed back. I should have shown that there is multiple ways to build up the 6.3 handling it was more of my preference, and using the rear wing would have been a way to also achieve 6.3 . I generally use the cage if I can get improvements in the lateral G’s, and brake improvement from the cage is not great enough to warrant the weight gain.

Depends on track and car. Even when stats don’t look great with it, on track performance trumps it. It’s an annoying aspect of the game because what is true for one car isnt for another. Like with some fwd hatches, no cage equals a terrible car. The cage helps redistribute weight to be more centered which then drastically improves performance despite weight gain.

To me it seems your build was leaning more to speed with no rear aero and rear tire width not maxed out. To me a balanced car is planted at Sonoma, is great at Silverstone, and does well on most accel tracks. Then again some cars really dont need rear aero to be great. It’s really a convoluted mess. Lmao. Hence why there never is agreement because it varies a lot.

A balanced build is really just a decent car. The accel tune will beat it on some tracks and grip tune will beat it on others. Lots of overlap. But it’s great when you want grip without getting bogged down in traffic due to some power for corner off acceleration. Probably the best tune to use when you are stuck mid pack.

Very well explained vid. Good work on that. I like your break down of why you use what you use, but you should never use the Cams or the Race gearbox unless you have maxed all the other basic engine parts out and you just need to round out the PI. You will be able to add so much more torque with the PI you lose on those two upgrades, and in Forza torque is king.

A side note to that, in rare cases you can use the sport Supercharger upgrade and the sport cams and once in a while it will come out as the best option.

Also you might get better results with most cars using full tire width and sport tires as opposed to race tires and the minimum tire width.

Any ways my 2 cents. I like what your doing, keep it up brotha.

^This. Even Stock tyres and maximise the tyre widths work good

Thanks I appreciate the feed back. After all these years of playing im still learning. I re-built without cams and got a 850HP-850LB shaved .200 off of track times between the two builds Thanks

We all are. If we knew what worked every time, then there wouldn’t be surprises.

Like cams do work in some cars. I know of one former #1 tune (now it’s the second best car but best tune for that car) that was junk until cams were used. Nobody really understood why it worked for this car because it didn’t make sense with a low torque car but it did work. Someone got creative and destroyed the leaderboards.
