You’re going into an R-Class race, whether it’s career or multiplayer, the field is full of various race cars and… Oh, look. There’s a couple Veyrons.
You know it would post slower lap times than anything else on the grid. That doesn’t matter, however, because it only needs to be faster for about fifteen seconds. It will blow everyone’s doors off while it blasts by at the start and leaves everyone behind only to slow to like 5 MPH in the turns ahead but that last bit doesn’t matter because nobody is getting around it. It’s hard enough making a clean pass in turns and this bus is using every inch of the track to weave through the corners, and if he runs into you while you’re trying to get around it’s basically going to be like a dump truck striking a Mini because he weighs as much as a small moon. You’re either eating a wall while he doesn’t even feel the impact, or you’re going to be beached in a sand trap. He’s just going on with his trolling. Even if you do finally get by, it doesn’t matter because now you’re coming up on the next straight and there’s nothing you can do to stop him from flying by at mach 7.2. If you get in his way, he will crush the entire rear of your car… because he’s a mobile office building and you aren’t. If you beat him to the next turn and he screws up his braking, you’re going to suffer when he smashes your rear end with his cruise ship, him making the turn while your crumpled pop can is sent fifty feet off the track.
It’s really a shame that this thing has to get lumped into races with actual race cars and there’s basically nothing you can do about it. When I make custom multiplayer races, I restrict to RWD, not for the Veyron but just a general principle, but in career it’s free to troll, and probably for other people’s multiplayer races as well.
i dont think i have ever lost to a veyron. grab a better tune. i dont even lose to them on old lemas which should be their best track. i’m doing rivals right now but i have never seen a veyron win in r class, and yes i have the 325 medals achievment. maybe i’ll try it again this week but a couple of weeks ago there was no tune that let a veyron be competitive. the car cant turn. if he’s holding the inside of the corner go wide, if he went in a little hot take him inside. get a launch tune and beat him to turn 1. hang back and drive around him while he’s in the turn 1 carnage. i dont use the veyron because i will be racing tward last place. i can not win with it so i dont think anyone else can either. i would rather use a good s class car in r class than use the veyron.
D class has this very same problem. Their called muscle cars and are usually driven by morons, whom have no concept on how to take a corner. How can a car with 400-500bhp be placed in a class with cars of 100-150bhp? I think they really ruin online racing and cause the vast majority of collisions. Don’t get me wrong i like these cars but their in the wrong place.
Iceman PJN, I’m really surprised to see this type of post from you. The reality is that the car isn’t the issue; it’s the person driving it. Your preconceived notion of the vehicle is unfair to those who effectively use it.
This is true. It’s also true with regards to the muscle cars post as well. It’s the drivers that make the difference. (Hate the driver, not the car - actually don’t hate anyone, but you get my point)
The PI system is fine, and some cars are better on straights vs turns and vice versa. It’s up to you to learn to use your car’s advantages to overcome it’s disadvantages.
I see where your coming from and agree with you to an extent. Im just finding the muscle cars make it easier for less skilled players to ruin a online race. They don’t often win due to the poor handling and crash out before the end of the first lap, yet have ruined everyone else’s experience in the process. I know some guys are very talented with them and i commend them. Its just a little frustrating sometimes on how almost every race i have is ruined by these same cars and drivers. Im Perfectly happy to finish lower down in a race and gracefully lose to a muscle car yet this very rarely happens, Its usually carnage where their involved.
to be fair there are some cars in the wrong class. we lost two upper teirs and the two lowest tiers so the cars cant be spread out as much as they used to. i never had a problem getting around the veyron tho. those go carts should be p class. or maybe he dosn’t realize you can come off that blue line. you dont have to have the hotlap line in multiplayer, just a line faster that the other guys, which is any line if the other guy is cornering with a veyron unless there is a new tune i haven’t seen yet. or maybe coming down the hill at bathurst, but even then you shouldn’t be behind the veyron more than 1 lap. i think if you let me use the veyron even in a class i’m gonna finish last unless its a room full of beginners who just drag race from corner to corner/wreck to wreck. i hate the veyron because i can not drive it, not because i cant beat it. if i see one on the starting grid i see a free position, if i seen 15 on the track i would see a free win. i might even be tempted to use a d class car for a quick afinity boost for winning.
People/Drivatars do the same thing with the classic & muscle cars in the lower classes as well. You beat them through the corners with a modern, lightweight car and they catch you on the straights and ram you off the road because their car weighs 2 tons. It’s pretty annoying that Drivatars behave like kids playing a Need For Speed game online.
Well you pay real money for Veyron and you’re fine with this. You pay real money for trolls and you think this is wrong? They’re the same thing. Troll on…
I don’t know from the Veyron being a problem. Quite honestly I’m finding the switch from wheel to controller frustrating enough that my track time is way down but …
I won’t bother going into details on how race cars will be better than any road car. Think, the only reason they are in that class is because they can go so fast in a straight line. If anything, don’t worry about them ramming you off, they are going to do it anyway unless they know how to drive it with such efficiency they can keep up remotely. I’ve seen the same thing with GT-R R35’s in the R Class, quick, then crash it and won’t win compared to a race car. If anything, why would you even want to use it in a multiplayer match if you know it is terrible in the first place? If it was the drag strip then yeah by all means but on a track, taking a road car in on a track is about as stupid as you can get, because race cars: A. Cost Less and B. Run better overall!
I was playing Tag and a Veyron was after me (in my Caterham). He was so hurt he couldn’t catch that he quit and I defaulted to being “it”. Quite hilarious if you ask me. Just beat them and they get hurt!
