Various problems with streaming on Mixer

I’ve been watching streams on Mixer during the week, which has earned me Influence in the game, so I know my Microsoft account is linked correctly to my Mixer account. However, I tried to stream two sessions myself during the week, each lasting more than an hour, but didn’t get any Influence from those. I tried to search around for people with similar problems, but couldn’t really find any, so I tried to disconnect and reconnect my Microsoft account from/to my Mixer account. Still didn’t seem to earn Influence though, so I tried to go my channel settings on Mixer and reset my streaming setup.

When I did that, the server it chose for me was located somewhere in Hong Kong, even though I’m located in Denmark, Europe. Now, whenever I try to stream from my Xbox using Mixer, I get an error message after a few seconds, saying that I couldn’t stream because a connection to the Ingest-server couldn’t be established. No matter how many times I try to re-setup my streaming settings on Mixer, I keep getting a server in Hong Kong and neither the “Advanced Settings” or “Show All Connections” buttons react when I press them, so I can’t manually choose another server. I tried both in Firefox and Chrome, with the same result. So I’m pretty stuck now, not being able to stream at all!

I know this is probably more a Mixer-issue than it is an issue with Horizon, but I thought others here might have experienced something similar and would be able to help me out. Any informations is appreciated!

The Mixer support team suggested me to follow these steps, in order to fix the issue:

  • Settings > Account > Privacy and online safety > Xbox Live > View details and customize > Communication and multiplayer > You can use video for communications > Everybody
  • Please also make sure your chat option is set to > Everybody as well. We’ve noticed some users have this custom set to friends only, or not allowed. This has been blocking the broadcast of Video.
  • Finally please run a hard reset on your console. Guide button > Settings (gear icon) > Power & startup > Turn off or Restart Console option > Full Shutdown

At first those steps didn’t seem to work for me, but after a 5-10 minute wait after the shutdown, the streaming suddenly started working. Not sure if it was actually because of me performing those steps or it was just luck… But if anyone suffers the same issue, this might be a solution.

It still doesn’t change the fact that I’m not earning any Influence from my streams though.
