sadly my first post will be a bad opinion about the new update. ( and sorry for some hard phrases and maybe a bad grammar )
Why the hell no one is testing the horrible new community Championchip Races? They are undrivable. There is no way to tune the [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] Honnigan Ford because its
- limited to 800 ! - hard rain ! - stupid driveatar physics and behavior !
AND…
the most annoying thing are the tracks itself. 180° switchbacks at wet mud after a jump without dirt tires is just the stupid thing i´ve ever seen in my life.
I thought that game should be an community created game ( where the wishes of the whole community are considered )… also NOTHING !
Next is the “new” story races…
FH4 is a racing game… ( i thougt ) but it wents more and more to an wrecking, crashing and wall riding game …
Getting points for a race where i have to destroy tons of trees, walls and fences? [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]
Why they dont did a next lvl drifting school aso? Thats one of the best parts at that game… and i think the community loves it.
So please respect the wishes of the community and try to realize some of them. Other wise this game is like all other senseless racing games ( NFS,The Crew aso )
btw… since the 2 update… it feels like driveatar lvl unbeatable and expert are switched and they only try to block and wreck the real drivers… also a nonsense.
I play games like this since around 25 years now… but this development and evolution is goin´to hell, sadly.
Dont agree with you on any of those issues
And you dont speak on behalf of the community…just yourself
I know a lot of people that would rather forced drifting requirements be totally removed from the game
I totally agree! Don’t you just love it when someone comes on here with a rant, speaking for the entire community?? (lol)
In my case, this week’s competitions were among the easiest ever. I completed most of them in short order last night. I usually don’t do this well on them.
I strongly, agree with you it took me like 7 tries to beat the community championship it was more stressful feels not worth it… Not to mention My game’s garage is bugged… like I won the championship for the TVR Tuscan said, was added to my garage…yet the CAR is no where to be seen… the only way I can even see it… is by selecting it before a race…
About the OP’s 1st complaint. I have to admit that the very first time I did any of the User Created Routes was what, last week in the weekly challenges. I had a feeling that whent the route creator came out it would just be a contest of who could create the “hardest” routes. While I had no issues with last weeks, thanks to Rewind, I can see where people would complain. I haven’t done this weeks yet so can’t comment on them yet. I saw it coming because of my experience with a Golf Sim that had a course creator. While there were some that created works of art that were fun to play while still being a challenge to play, there were others that created Nightmares that were evil just because they could be.
And yes, Talby, I think all Drift Skills Challenges should be removed from the game.
My problem with the community championships is that the routes are not hard/weird/innovative enough. I know my routes would never be picked because they are too complicated for NPC’s.
I’m not sure about that last bit. One of the first ones had all of the NPCs piled up at one of the corners, because they didn’t turn into the path that went through the woods. It was a tight course with offroad buggies, iirc.
Every time I take part in a Forzathon when there is a drift part everyone seems to struggle to try and score the required points before the timer is up.
@latotheX: There are some good user created routes that are well thought out. Upvote the ones you like and add to your favourites the routes that you want to drive again.
IMHO the route creator is one of the best additions to the game.
I understand your frustrations, but maybe the following tidbits can help cheer you guys up.
These issues have seen elsewhere. One thing to keep in mind is that as an enthusiast game, we can expect a wide range of interests from the automobile hobby. Personally, I am a huge motorhead, but have no interest in the drift/hoon lifestyle. So in that, this updates offers very little… Well regalia is huge bit of nerd love.
Where I follow and expect the start of this frustration is from the community tracks. It is quite unfortunate. There were many entries from people like myself. Due to reasons not worth mentioning, results upset us creators. As a route creator, I can see intent, but just limited experience and the tracks not being designed for these cars being the problem. It is really tough to see comments like this because I know the good mood the creators would be in from winning, followed by the downer of comments which unfortunately have merit. If the creators want, I would gladly help em out in updating.
That said, If you want to have an unofficial championship, try out my submissions listed in my signature. The following link gives a more detailed description of each track.
btw… edited topic name… now it fits better i think
First of all, thanks to everyone who participates in this discussion. and big thanks to Vaporisor for your Feedback. It would be really nice, if the route makers someone helps, so that does not come out such a garbage. Especially it would be nice if it does not rain everytime.
Years ago i worked for an other online racing game by an hungarian brand and developer. The co work was great and i`ve learned alot about community, publisher and developer and the correlation between them. So i know what i´ve talking about… but the game needs a better driveatar behavior. And there is another annoying thing in all the races that i dont understand.
Why we have an handicap in the wrong direction in all the races? If i´m at the first place in a race the car works great and all is fine ( all without any assistance activated ) but if i fall back the cars handling goes weirder and weirder. This should be fixed first with the driveatars together. Than all should be alot better. ( this is my opinion )
Is it the bug where rewind just wont rewind when pressed?
It has been a rare and reccuring bug in past where you just cannot rewind, but leaving and restarting the race/route creator and is working fine again.
If it’s what I experienced yesterday, all of the street scene races for the seasonal do not allow rewind. It worked on none of them, restart didn’t fix it and I ended up just disabling it for those races to get the extra rewards, since it didn’t work anyway.
You have yourself a good weekend too. I hope that this hasnt spoiled your experience. I am still a regular player since the early access launch. It is most fun for me playing it as an enthusiast game and sometimes just playing with whatever car I find most fun. Personal choice for joy is my S2 tuned 46 ferrari
The couple of points for your follow up post. The drivertars? Wont say perfect. At times rubberbandy or seem cheaty for their cars. The latter, a mindset to consider is the challenges of optimization and matching to the players. I suspect the car is just core values that get adjusted to meet the modified PI of the player. Essentially what we see is more like a skin. But over time and with practice, it can become more apparent that thry are subject to the same physics, just more controlled in their driving. Can beat unbeatable without “cheaty” driving.
The other one is your comment about handicap if behind vs ahead. This is more a psychological phenominon that is made apparent due to the complex physics of Forza meeting the environmental challenges of horizon.
When we are behind, we subconciously push harder. When we lead, then our limiters kick in more. We pace by whats around us. So when behind, you turn more aggressive, brake later, and throttle harder. In high PI cars, even these slight differences can be huge in affecting your control. On top of that, drafting now is tweaking your performance as well.
It is the ol saying in racing. Fast looks slow. Looking fast is slow.
Keeping in mind pacing self when not leading, you will start catching this psychological shift. You will notice that if an opponent is on your tail, it will start feeling the same as the instability when behind since you start pushing that pace.
I have yet to play this one simply because I dont like that Ken Block Focus at all but I am eager to try it. All the other events in this new update were fun, even the PG games stuff. The first few community routes were fun but I guess the one from this week is that bad?
