I’ve looked at the Mustang Challenge series and i realized it’s multiclass and i find a few problems with it. First - the nature of multiclass itself which basically splits the players into their respective car classes competing against one another. Which means if there’s a lobby of 10-12 players it’s getting axed 4 times and we’d be racing at best against 3 players per class split. And that’s like a perfect scenario. Most of the time that’s not going to be the case. And what often happens is we’re essentially either racing on our own or against 1-2 other players.
So what’s the point of signing up for multiclass when we can sign up for a specific open car class and get to race against 10-12 or more players, which is a much much fuller lobby? Then we look at the race length which is 18 minutes. You know what happens after 8-10 minutes of this? Some of the players just quit. And so if im racing against 2 other players and 1 of them quits, i’m essentially just hotlapping on my own. So what’s the point of singing up in the first place?
Let’s revert back a little to the choice of cars. When the lobbies are already pretty tight, it means if i want to race against more players, i may need to switch class. But then the whole reason i went into this, in the first place was that i could pick whatever i wanted.
Also the car restrictions themselves… How am i supposed to know what restriction applies to which car? There’s no such restrictions in the autoshow. There’s no “advanced restrictions” button like in FH5 which literally lets us see exactly which cars are applicable.
And then on top of everything i just mentioned, this is a Permanent series at least for the entire month. So as i look through the calendar again it’s the ONLY mustang themed event for multiplayer along with this week’s shelby gt500 series, but that’s only for week 1. Week 2 and week 3 Featured multiplayer series are totally different. (the rest is just based on what the community voted for)
So this month is barely even about Mustang. Also the tour itself which we have to wait for 6 days in between to unlock it. Since there won’t be any Spotlight series anymore, why not unlock the entire career tour at once? Btw multiclass wouldn’t be too bad, FM just doesn’t have enough players to fill in the lobbies and open class is always going to be much more convenient.
My crashes to the dashboard are worse than ever.Plus frame rate issues are terrible. If I didn’t know better I’d say Series X is now struggling to run this game. A year in and I can’t believe it’s crashing to dashboard still. It was ok until this update. Can’t you introduce good updates without bugs that spoil other things.
Man, this handling feels soooo good now. Just tuned this R34 Skyline using some Ohlins R&T IRL values ( spring rates at least - 515f/485r) and it doesn’t wanna lose grip at all. So composed and rotates near perfectly.
Update 13 has definitely improved the steering. The cars no longer understeer unrealistically or unnecessarily. They rotate nicely and I don’t have to go full lock analogue stick on every turn. The response around the centre is good.
In the Colt classics tour,some of the cars have superchargers sticking out of the bonnet.How do you get this mod?Ive bought a supercharger but still doesnt appear through the bonnet,i cant use it in the first 2 races as it goes above the class but be nice to know how to do it.
Bodywork/aero section - they’re visual only though (apart from any aero gains/losses), putting the supercharger bonnet on doesn’t magically install the supercharger too
I get why people would want that, because dynamic weather sounds fun in theory but in reality it leads to a lot of carnage in public lobbies. I think it was the right choice to limit it to Private Multiplayer.
Long and Enduro definitely as there is more flexibility for pit stops, Medium races aren’t quite long enough (especially at 4x wear).
If Dynamic Weather is to return though then it is absolutely essential that it is joined by either weather radar or some kind of forecast/prediction/warning.
Free play quick event is still absolutely ridiculous. Why does the Ai get to pick cars that are 20+ PI higher than mine every time? Got the difficulty set to 4, still can’t catch the first place car cos it’s 26 PI higher than mine. Ai rolling race tires yet when I put race tires on my car I STILL can’t catch them because now they’re still 20 PI higher. This is pure nonsense. What even is the point of upgrading in these races if it does no good? I really don’t get this Dark Souls generation Ai level of nonsense. So infuriating.
I just want to jump in my favorite car and go. Don’t want to deal with online because 80% of those people can’t drive to save their lives. I stick with offline Ai races. You’re making these unbearable with this Ai programming. SET THEIR PI LIMIT TO NO HIGHER THAN WHAT OUR CURRENT CAR IS. Pretty easy solution. Why hasn’t this been done? Because we can set it in the advanced settings? That’s ridiculous. Not all of us want to go through that menu all the time. I just want to fire the game up. Grab my favorite car and go. Don’t want to fight with obnoxiously aggressive Ai. Don’t want to fight with Ai that KNOWS it has a very easy advantage by picking cars that are 20+ PI higher than ours. Don’t want do deal with the advanced setup menu, that makes me slowly trickle the PI limit 1 number at a time ( why is this not a drop down or something that I can type a number into? - Xbox player ).
What’s more is that when I do go through the advanced setup and set the PI limit to what my car is and I have the difficulty set to 8, the Ai is slow. Can’t catch me. What even is this?
Players can’t ever win these races with how they’re currently setup without punting the Ai off the track. Is this your goal? Part of some weird plan to show off the damage modeling or some nonsense? I don’t get it. Why do you want to make players hate this game mode? Just… weird.
I think this explains why the AI gets a range of PI unless you manually limit them; they need it to compete. Lots of little bandaid solutions that while sensible, maybe shouldn’t be shown to the player…
