Untamable Cars

Tonight I was trying to tune a Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series. I’ve mostly been racing S Class lately, so naturally that’s where I decided to take the car. The car seemed to have incredible potential, but after about 30 minutes trying to tame the beast, I started to believe that it just wasn’t going to happen.

That lead me to wonder, what are some other cars out there that you guys consider to be “untamable,” if any?

The black series is a car i used a lot at one time and still do pull out from time to time. It certainly doesn’t have incredible potential but it can be tuned to run competitive times and be a lobby winner. ONR Roadrunner has a good setup but I’m not sure it’s still on his storefront. I tried the SLS AMG before and found that while it can run decent times it’s definitely not tame.

I believe the only car many seem to consider untamable was the keonigsigg. Other than that with a decent tune any car can be tamed… does not mean every car has potential or can be competitive tho.

I personally love the C63. Is it a LB car, no, probably not, but it can be very competitive and with the right build and tune is not hard to drive at all.

NO car is un-tameable!! Some just require a bit more finesse to get around the track.

I have deemed couple cars “un-tameable” But then I have received tuning setup, and ended up having quite nice car on my hands.

How ever I do thinkthat there might be cars that are hard to tune, or they always manage to elude the tuner. I have tried to tune Mazda RX-8 many times and it has always eluded me. How ever I have received a great tuning setup to it elsewhere. Same thing with BMW CSL -71 I cant get anything out of it, but I have seen that there are guys who just trow it around like nothing.

My biggest problem with the C63 Black Series is wheel spin. Excessive wheel spin when shifting from first to second (not really that big an issue as I’ve come to expect that from a few cars), and from 2nd to 3rd gear (this is the real issue). I drive with all assists off, and I do pretty well, but this car… all I have to do is put the slightest pressure on the right trigger coming out of a corner and the back end whips out. I only happens mostly in 3rd, not so much in 4th or at least it’s more managable in 4th. I’ve tried so many different things aside from messing with the gear ratios (I’m relatively new to tuning, but picked it up pretty quick, but cannot for the life of me understand how to tune my gear ratios).

Keep in mind, I’m not asking for help here, but if you have a few pointers that could point me in the right direction, I’d gladly accept them. The point of this post was just to see if there are any other cars that some people deem untamable.

I don’t know about untameable but there’s a couple cars I’ve tried tuning recently where I’ve really struggled to get the car running times i know it’s capable of, or even just getting them to feel nice. Yesterday i was tuning a S700 Vauxhall VX220 and i ended up giving up on it. I know the car is outrageously fast but i just couldn’t get it to feel the way i wanted to. I’ll go back to it definitely, because i want to use it on a couple of leaderboards, but it was really frustrating. I was chopping and changing everything, it felt horrible. Still does.

Well, whatever the hell you were racing tonight when you ran that 1:21 on Road Atlanta seems to be working just fine lol. That was a terrifyingly quick lap, how the heck did you finish last?

Oh, that was my 797hp murcielago. I was having a wreck fest with some guy, lol. Using an AWD he just ploughed through me at the start. I can hit 21s with just about anything but that murcielago if i can get some clear space and hook up my lap I’ll hit a 20. It’s brilliant. You’re the first person I’ve recognised from here racing online that i didn’t already know from the leaderboards.

I’m not ranked very high on the leaderboards lol. I have a few top 1000 times, but most of my times fall somewhere in the 1000-2000 range. Also, I just really started getting into the game a few months ago when I was out of work due to dental surgery. Since then I just haven’t put the game down. So that’s probably why you didn’t recognize me until we raced last night. As for your times, and your Murcielago, I love the way you just say it so nonchalantly like “oh yeah, that was my 797 hp Murcielago.” For me, putting up a 1:21 on Road Atlanta would be a huge deal lol. But then I guess when you put up consistant leaderboard times it just becomes second nature.

but for the odd little time out, I’ve been playing Forza pretty much daily for 3 years. You’ve got to learn something in that time, lol. I’m happy about that murcielago because i discovered that build and tuned it myself. It’s definitely not in the untameable category!

Of course you’d learn something in 3 years of playing lol. I’ve had the game for as long but haven’t really gotten into it too much until recently. Over the last 3 or 4 months I’ve managed to shave my lap times by about 5 seconds, but I’m at the point where I’ve hit a wall and ocassionally I’ll manage to shave a few tenths of a second off a lap.

The Aussie V8 supercars seem impossible to control at even half-throttle in the first three gears. All that torque and the thing is tail-happy.

Try taking some of the accel out of the diff settings, if at 75% drop it aggressively by more than half, the closer to making it a one legger sometimes helps tamer the beast in a car, ive had some down below 10% too much torque, car very light etc. good luck

Haha, this is thread is great… In my opinion, my cars are all tamable… But, I kinda laugh at my friends that think they are untamable, just because they don’t really play forza a lot… But, also, I try to keep my cars (drift cars, I should add…) tamable, by keeping the horsepower just a little bit lower, but still good enough to be able to drift around a corner.

Unicorn Car: Mazda RX-7 Spirit R

You giving out unicorns big papa? Sweet, I’ll have the mines R32. Lol

HAHAHA, hellllll no I’m not giving out unicorns. I’m not trying to banned. What’s that guy thinking? This ain’t RVM! lol

All cars can be tamed, it’s just doing so makes some of them really rubbish. Sometimes the cars need that edge for the one lap. Cars like the Rossion or the Porsche RS Spyder, both have horrendous aero balance at full downforce so you have to take some front off…but how much you can get away with keeping on might be the ultimate difference to get you top of the boards or not.

I found a Class S Toyota Trueno quite a handful with no aero.

If you ramp the Bentley Continental GT or Supersports up a class or two, they’re absolutely ridiculous. You have to put full aero on both just to nudge the Handling over 6.0. Even then they’re difficult to drive on anything other than an Oval or Road America.
