Unable to connect to multiplayer lobby - "Failed to aquire server data"

I have been scouring the forums for a solution to this but have found nothing that has worked,

When trying to connect to a lobby I get the error “Failed to acquire server date” There are various posts for PC but I am trying to get online using both an XB1 and a XB1S and I get the same issue.

I have checked my router settings and the ports all appear to be open and IPSEC appears to be enabled as well, on my Xbox the NAT is set to Open so there should be no issue. My ISP is SKY and I have the Sky Hub SR102 .

Anyone else had this issue and had any luck fixing it?

Like on PC when opening the xbox app, you have a settings tab where you can check your network status to the xbox network. I assume you can do this on xbox itself, have you tried it and what is the result?

The network status is fine, the multiplayer test passes and the NAT is open. I have also forwarded all the recommended ports on the router.

I have the same issue since several months (years…)

Honestly it started on Xbox360 (FM4) when I was living in Italy… and still I have the same here In Germany with the Xbox One (FM5, FM6 & FM7).
I quitted trying to get the multiplayer achievement and actually I quitted also the Xbox Gold membership because of that…

I really would like to enjoy again some multiplayer event on FM…

Hoping in some kind of enlightenment

cheers

Never had this issue in FM4 or FM5, but have been hassled with similar issues since FM6. Also the primary reason I had to quit TORA and other private Leagues as I only caused the organizers headaches with connection issues. Not even spending money on huge internet upgrades and setting changes changed anything. I don’t care one bit for the spaghetti hoppers, but with Leagues starting later today, it will be a major disappointment if this continues in FM7.

It’s definitely something to do with sky broadband and the router as I tried my Xbox on a a friends BT connection and it Connected just fine. It has to be something in the firewall blocking the connection in the game.

Yeah, I’ve got this problem all of a sudden. I’ve been able to join multiplayer just fine until last night. Yesterday afternoon I could play multiplayer just fine but I shut down to go do other things and came back last night and couldn’t join. Same problem this morning and now again this afternoon as I just tried again. Seeing as how the only way I’m allowed to race the cars I want at the upgrade/performance level I like is in the multiplayer, it would be really nice if T10 would fix their buggy game.

Just ran a speedtest:

I’m on an ASUS G752VSK with the following specs:
Windows 10 64-bit
Intel I7-7820HK at 2.9GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 (And that is 1070, not 1070m)
16GB RAM
FM7 Install is on a 500GB SSD

Let me know if there’s anything else I can tell you to help identify the problem.

EDIT: I just got mine working again. I ran CMD.EXE as admin and put in this command: NETSH WINSOCK RESET and then restarted my laptop. It works now. Do your own research because I don’t know what that command does exactly, google turned it up, but it worked for me. Good luck guys.
