im thinking of playing the game with game pass day one. and buy it when it goes on sale (hopefully on black friday). if i wait, will i still get the day one car pack and formula drift car pack with the ultimate edition when i buy it say… in november?

i know that… im planning on playing it first on game pass for the 14 day free trial. then buy the game later when it is on sale…
First let’s look at the Editions list:
If you buy the Ultimate Edition post-launch, you will get everything mentioned above, minus the ability to play the game early (as it would have already been released by the time you buy it). Think of the Ultimate Edition as a discounted bundle of all the DLC mentioned above.

Looks like I forgot that the Formula Drift Car pack was a pre-order incentive. Daiyus’ answer further down makes sense regarding that.
The question I think he’s asking for is confirmation that the post-launch Ultimate Edition will include all DLC the pre-order UE bundle has, and I’m not sure we have that confirmation at this point.

this is exactly what i mean.
It was my understanding that the Formula Drift Pack was a pre-order bonus, but as usual it will probably be available separately a few months down the line. I’d expect the other content to be identical.
At the moment I would have to say no as the Day one car pack is only for Ultimate pre orders at the moment, this question can not really be answered till after release, So unless you own the Ultimate Edition on day one I don’t see how you would get the Day one car pack for buying it at a later date even though you played the Standard Game on Game Pass at release.

i wanna buy the ultimate add-ons bundle but not from the microsoft store as i can’t use their payment methods and i can’t find the bundle anywhere else
… should’ve just got the ultimate edition but how was i suppose to know the place where i bought the game won’t have the rest of the bundles so i can upgrade from the standard version if i want to
i don’t like how microsoft is kinda forcing you to use the microsoft store by keeping the bundles hostage…if you’re gonna give out the game to different retailers then give them the rest of the stuff not just the base game and that’s it
