It is a crying shame that T10 seem hell bent on ignoring motorsport outside of the good old USA, they added briefly the little known outside the US Sebring 24hrs endurance race but completely missed the Bathurst 24hr endurance race, the start of the F1 season and the start of the British Touring car season.
Yup i agree with everyone else, its a licence thing BUT come on… something could have been done, even an inclusion of Silverstone into the monthly challenge with some UK cars OR the Lotus F1 at Silverstone for a monthly challenge, maybe a mix of GT and S Class cars at Bathurst … anything !!!
Although I sense what you’re saying; there are literally hundreds of motorsports series starting each March/April all governed by some sort of (inter)national office. We/you can’t expect T10 to pay attention to all of them?
By the way, they did pay attention to F1 @ News - Forza and I am not really bothered digging for other articles on the subjects you mentioned
You mean like when they do the 2.4 hours of LeMans every year. They’re not going to highlight every race, but they will do something for bigger events. Yes, the 12 hours of Sebring and the 24 hours of LeMans are bigger events than the 24 hours of Bathurst. You didn’t see anything for the Daytona 500 or the Indy 500 either. Americans are not out to get you.
It’s still a pretty shoddy ratio, though. The US accounts for 4.5% (four-point-five, not forty-five) of the world’s population, and while I’m not sure what percentage of major race tracks (not counting the 80,000 little dirt oval tracks and drag strips) I’m sure it’s far less than forty percent.
While your percentage is true, you are forgetting the fact that the biggest target audience is the US. I would bet 50-60% of all forza players are from the US.
One other thing: Running a special event on a weekend is a bit different for a company which works Monday-Friday (and very LONG hours at that), and doing weekend events all the time when the employees should have a person/family life outside of work. If you’re familiar with the Turn 10 events, like Racing With the Devs, the times never please everyone because they are held close to (if not during) the company work hours.
No pleasing a 24-hour world with 24-hour players 100% of the time.
Technically speaking T10 online falls within the service industry. Pulling the lame old long hours on weekdays excuse is so old it booked a ticket on Noah’s ark. Any organisation providing a seven day service should have staff rota’d across the seven day week. It’s what a multitude of businesses do all around the world. I’m sure many thousands of players are blessed with a work pattern taking in seven days, and plenty of hours too.
Mr Gadge - I am somewaht confused what you are asking for. Do you mean you want hoppers and rival challenges that are themed on motor races around the world?
