I’ve got the DTMs down, it’s the other race types like the GT1s that are throwing me. Sure using them on Lemans is easy but on more technical tracks can be a pain.
The key to low lap times with GT1 monsters in managing the torque. Most of them will happily spin their tires in almost any gear, so you need to be careful with the throttle. Some people just use the traction control to accomplish the same thing…but where’s the fun in that ![]()
(Yes I’m aware that most of the real race cars used traction control)
^ This! These cars can be tuned just as well as any other class. The best tune available will not help if you don’t drive it properly however.
I have found that at least for the way that I drive if I go in and adjust the springs either stiff or soft and move the Accel Diff to 40% I can get close.
My friends and I have started doing about the same thing you are doing. We take a specific race car and pick a track for it then spend usually an hour tuning it to suit our styles then race them. The only upgrades we allow are brakes to the race brakes (why they dont come like that is a mystery to me). But once we finish we race them and shockingly enough all end up about the same lap time (within 3-5 tenths). Feel free to let me know what your car is doing and I will see if I can help you out in tuning it.
