Trials

Some options to consider:

  1. Give us 3-5 points for attempting. Winners can still get 10. If you re-race later and win you get the balance.
  2. Reduce the point total to 5 and put another user event lab worth 5 in the mix each week because those are actually fun.
  3. Instead of unbeatable drivatars use highly skilled to give average drivers a shot.
  4. Just get rid of it.

No thanks. As someone who found the Trial to be too hard at first, I now look forward to each week’s Trial.

My rebuttal
1 - You don’t need the Trial points to get the cars each season. And programming to give a partial reward and later a full reward is just asking for the points rewarded to be bugged.

2 - No EventLab is worth 5 points. Challenges are rewarded generally based on skill and effort required to complete them. And the Trial is harder than the Seasonal Challenges and should not be rewarded at the same point level.

3 - The point of the Trial is that it is hard. Going up against Highly Skilled AI on the Trial would make it too easy for a lot of players. If you think the AI is too hard on one attempt, try again. The AI often varies in how well they drive from one attempt to another. One time the first three drive at amazing speeds, the next time they are beatable by a reasonably skilled driver with a good tune.

4 - The Trial is the thing about seasonal playlists that a lot of players look forward to the most. If you don’t like it, don’t do it.
