Jeebuz it’s been quite a while since I posted. I just picked up Forza 5, and thought I’d jump over to the forums and the idea struck me to ask for some advice. Without the sad part of the backstory (although if you want that info I don’t mind sharing), I wanted to know if I’m totally up a creek without a paddle, or just a bit in trouble. My everyday car is a 97 Acura CL automatic. I was running errands and since I live in the country, I drive kinda far, and probably way too fast. I’d made about a 200 mile trip in 2 days, and I was about 30 miles from home. Made a stop, and when I put my car in drive, it revved but dind’t go anywhere. Shutting the car off and turning it back on seemed to fix it… for a few minutes. After a while the car would rattle all over when it tried to shift. I put it into D3 to make it back home. About 10 miles from home the check engine light pops on. I waited until daylight to check the transmission fluid, and from what I read online, if it’s not red and not “sweet smelling”, I’m in trouble. So it’s slightly blackened and smells burned. I’ve only had the car since November of last year. Am I going to have to totally get a new transmission or car? Or will flushing out the bad fluid and adding new fluid improve anything?
