I agree.
Today I switched over to Forza 3 just for some variety. Some say they like the Top Gear Test Track because it provides a “break” from the other racing. Well, when I came to the Amalfi Coast race in F3, I found some REALLY diverting content that is still legitimate racing. I hope that F5 will some day include some more road races, maybe like Amalfi. Long Beach is basically a road course (as is Prague and the Alps course) but the Amalfi route is really nutty. But lots of fun, and still legitimate racing. I think I’ll continue to avoid “bowling” and “London Tour”. The last thing I want is garbage cans sliding all over the track. But, of course, to each his (her) own. Forza is good for everybody, I hope. Happy racing.
If you don’t like it then don’t drive it. The amount of emails and posts there was requesting the track be included suggests that some people do enjoy it. Just because your favourite colour is red you really cant suggest they remove the colour blue because you don’t like it, can you ?
i like the random events, they mix it up a bit. which is a good thing, that and at one point i was 97th with the F1 on the full track
and as i, like many millions of people have watched that track so many times on TV, i know where the corners are
I love the track. Every time I buy a new car thats the first track I take it out on to test the lap time. I have a spreadsheet with all my top gear test track times with the car and its class to see where it ranks up with my others.
Don’t forget that not everyone is the same age. My son loves the bowling and the Tour of London with all the stuff flying every which way. Some people like autocross or track days and some love to drag race. Everyone has different preferences so it is good to have as much variety as there is in FM5 to appeal to a larger audience. I think they have a good balance with what they have but you can never argue with more tracks and cars. We players always want more!
Long, long ago, back in the dark ages of Forza, the Top Gear Test Track did not exist in the game. Many who mistakenly believed that Jeremy Clarkson is somehow the most important opinion on all things motoring saw this as a significant shortcoming and so they requested it and requested it and requested it. They made irrational demands for it, threatened to leave if it weren’t included immediately and never once flagged in their efforts to continually request the track in thread after thread. At the height of the furor, it was easily the most requested track. Yes, even more so than Spa and Bathurst combined. And so Turn 10 saw those many requests and contrary to popular opinion, they decided to respond to those requests by inking a deal with Top Gear and adding the track to the game. As a result, there was much rejoicing followed by the inevitable realization that it’s really not that great a track and why did so many think this would be a good addition to a racing game. And so it was that bowling and ‘Tour of London’ were added in an effort to squeeze some use or practicality from what is otherwise a somewhat dull and lifeless track.
