To anyone who still thinks team races are good in MP, go and play Cheeky Lambos 5 times in a row

It’s a complete mess, and that’s with only 6 human players instead of 12! Managed to beat the AI and win the race… NOPE you still lose because one of your teammates is AFK and another missed the checkpoint every corner, spoonfeeding the opponent hundreds of points.

Team races are unequivocally worse than solo Free for All races. They don’t even show your times at the end of the race, instead choosing to show a weird team leaderboard where it’s hard to see the race results at a glance. No lap times in a racing game, cmon…

The only small reason I can think that team races might have an edge over FFA races, is the ‘feelgood’ factor for bad players where they can lose every race and still win overall. But in catering towards noobs, you’re just giving the middle finger towards good players.

One big criticism of FH3 multiplayer was that you could win every race and still lose. Well, they just changed it to a new system that screws you over in exactly the same way. It’s like they’re trolling us.

reading the forum for several days I’m convinced that most players do not like the team game

as you write, they also wanted to please the weak players who had poor results in individual matches. but where is the sense here? thus, they have put off the old players. why is there no choice?

The seasonal championship “Cheeky Lambos” is the prime example why team races only (even in ranked…seriously???) is a bad idea. I’ve won both races multiple times but never the championship because we always lose the sprint due to bad cars (833 stock Gallardo), bad drivers and quitters. I’ve lapped Drivatars and some of my team members on the roundcourse and still lost the race?! Despite not even second place finishing before the time-out. Team races with random people are carnage, frustrating and a gamble.

Since last friday I tried to win “Cheeky Lambos” roughly 30 times and never succeeded.

Don’t worry, if you get it on the 31st attempt you don’t even get the super wheelspin

Same, managed to win it once. I don’t think it is even doable with six players, I managed to get it with two others who were also in 900er Huracans. Difficulty for this event feels wildly inconsistent, though. It say you are driving against highly skilled or something like that, but the first two drivatars feel like they are on unbeatable difficulty. The one time I won, though, they felt much easier.

For the team races I think Playground really needs to change it to a point system more like FIA racing series. Where just your place matters and your rewards are based on place and not how many players you left behind you. It was already not working great in FH3. Example: Some players drop out and suddenly you are 3 red vs 1 blue player. Red player wins at gets 150 points, blue beats two players and gets 200 points. Blue wins. The system is skewed towards the smaller team.

This time quitters are being counted as “last place”. With this extremely well-considered system you can find yourself in a spot where winning is impossible even if all remaining players get the top positions. Must’ve been a genius who designed this.

Yep always lose the cheeky lambos because other people just aren’t used to racing the drivitars on the difficulty they are on, i even try to slow the drivitars down for other people but still no joy so I have since given up on that event

Im on highly skilled and in solo races against drivatars i can normally come first, sometimes lower if I screw up, but online mp races they seem much better. From what you are saying I gather the drivatar difficulty is matched for everyone, so if Im on highly skilled it will match me with other online players with that difficulty?

On thing about them blue/red team races is the leaderboard results, its confusing why is it that red stays at top and blue at bottom, it should be in order of finish, it looks like team drivatar beat the blue team as it stands with the current layout.

So many things need improving

Great game though!

As a noob (to online racing) it actually makes it worse for me too. I’m perfectly happy to race in FH3 online and come in second-to-last because I’m just not that good yet. But in FH4 I don’t want to do the team races because I don’t want to be the guy that ruins it for the rest of my team.

i took me 3 or 4 tries to get it. both wins were with only 3 humans though, with the finishing positions being 1, 4, 9 and 1, 3, 12. i agree with it being nearly impossible with 6 humans and 6 AI.

what made it even more interesting is it still says “available” instead of “completed” after we won both races, unlike the other seasonal events.

This 10 times. One dude said that it was hard because there was rent-a-car. I mean it’s not THAT hard to grab the free huracan and upgrade it to S1 900.
Seriously hoping we get some new modes.

Cheeky Lambo was a very frustrating one for me. I played it approximately 10 times and we won only one time with a random team, and guess what…NO Superwheel spin. The first/Second corner on this race is always like destruction derby. And if blue team is not in front you can see most people are leaving the race.

But it is an interesting question. If i play on unbeatable, and some others at highly skilled. What does the system decide which difficulty it finally is on that race ?

Furthermore i found the red KI on that race is behaving like as…les. They are kicking you, they are blocking you…wow…KI is VERY bad. And if you are on first or second, and driving on a straight it could be that the drivatar just pass you with warp 9.

The difficulty for the Lambo event is fixed. You can’t change it with your own settings.

This what I was saying a few posts back, I would presume everyone on the server is using the same drivartar difficulty.

I’ve attempted this 3 or 4 times and much like in Team Adventure it seems to be my own team mates crashing me out of checkpoints. Of course the AI isn’t much better they will do the same. I could just smash the AI off the road and such but why start bad habits. I mean this is what leads to the poor state that multiplayer is in now.

The trial is actually worse than regular Team Adventure, as the Drivatars don’t go afk/miss checkpoints. The event would have worked out better if it was two opposing teams of actual people as per normal. The Drivatars are also more… unpredictable for some reason.

Lol Cheeky Lambos was a nightmare to complete. Some players were actually trying to ram me as i was passing because they didn’t want to lose their position while being too slow to keep up, wth fam? Out of the 30 + times i tried this we manged to win twice only because most people screw up the first race but win the second. To make matters worse the first time we won the game refused to acknowledge the victory so i had to do it all over again.

Also why is the grid set up in such a ridiculous way? 6 drivatars in front and 6 players in the back. Wouldn’t it be fair for it to be drivatar - player - drivatar - player etc. Starting at 12th place with randos who don’t know what they are doing is extremely annoying. Worst racing mode I’ve ever seen.

I tired at least 15 times. I won the second race but no one was able to win the first. Gave up. Rammers and wreckers just don’t get the team idea. It should have been 3 races. If you lose the first one, what is the point of doing the second?

Second race was easy (unless you got bad teammates) once you know the road, which happened after your first try. First race… I tried it maybe 6-7 times and always drivatars won, because you getting the 1st place wasn’t enough and even getting first 2 places with your teammate wasn’t enough. Why? Because people tried to take each other out (!!facepalm!!) and can’t really drive or just leave in the middle of the race (+the same old “marvelous” AI).

yesterday win two in a row no super wheelspin so don’t bother it´s whorthess
