ISRTV First Look: Thrustmaster T3PA-PRO Pedal Set Review - YouTube

Looks like they are pretty much the same as the T500 pedals, full metal construction, floor mounted or suspended positioning, two different brake mods (conical rubber & spring) incl. adjustable pressure force (7-10kg w/o mod, 14-16 with spring mod, 20-30 with rubber mod)

Available already in Europe for 170€ (well, we all know about TM’s “availability”
US release is April at 170$

Sounds promising, hope the clutch pedal actually feels like a real clutch

WOW! Only $170? Great price.

I take it, that any mod that works with the T500 pedals would work here? Right.
From the looks of things, that seems to be the case.

Looking at the pictures they seem to be absolutely identical, i suppose that t500 brake mods like basher’s will work on this one just fine. i dont think that the dimensions of the pedal construction are any different to the 500 set

Unfortunately the clutch pedal will feel exactly the same as the throttle. the inversion is done exactly the same way like the t500 (by turning upside down), so the clutch will become the throttle and vice versa. Bummer but not a showstopper

I wonder if you could install the brake spring mod on the clutch pedal after inversion, or perform the Basher bushing mod to add some bump stoppage?

The pedal bases do look like they can accept the conical mod behind all of the pedals. Just a thought.

When I saw the reveal on FB the first thing I thought was ‘and why did it take so long to release these?’ This ‘ecosystem’ of theirs is a constant source of bemusement. No clutch set at release. They have refused to sell the TX base-only. The latest wheel is a leather-wrapped GTE, they recycled the F1 and GTE wheels, took forever to release a plastic third pedal set which has been plagued by shipping problems, and only now do they ‘unveil’ what appears to be a refried T500 pedal set. Priceless.

Exactly why in the end I caved and just bought a G27 and forgo’d any thoughts of a decent wheel on the xbox.

Yup that would be possible, but instead of having a clutch that feels like a throttle you will have one that feels like a brake  Its more about simulating the sweet-spot (virtually “feel” the operation of the clutch) but that’s gonna be difficult anyways as every clutch behaves slightly different and the sweet spot would have to be adjusted every time you change your car. Anyways, a realistic clutch feel doesn’t really improve lap times, compared to a brake with progressive resistance (this can get you around 0.5 sec depending on track) so its no a big deal.

Well, at least they have an ecosystem…nothing wrong with that, as it caters both, the casual gamer who will likely just stick with the stock hardware and the pro-sumer gamer who can extend their setup with additional features if they are willing to invest the money…I agree that some of TM’s decisions are questionable, like releasing nearly identical hardware twice without offering adaptors for existing hardware like the TH8RS or the T500 pedal set. Same goes for not selling a base-only version, even though it wouldn’t have been much cheaper anyways if the sell it without cheap stock pedals. Btw, the stock pedals came without a clutch because the Ferrari 458 doesn’t have a clutch pedal either.

Whats funny, at the same time you criticize that they “recycled” the GT and the F1 rim even though its still the same model and fully compatible with the T500. Isnt that a bit contrary?

And seeing how they seem to be struggling to meet the demand, a staggered release of TX addons is the only right way, IMHO. They’ve already put out quite a lot of hardware since the TX458 release, like the 458 spider, the T300, T3PA, T8HA, Leather-Rim…

Speaking of the T300…

Is it’s failure rate as bad as the TX?

Replying to myself. I finally found my answer.

The T300 is no better than the TX when it comes to reliability. Over at Gtplanet, the T300 thread is starting to look like the various TX threads over here, with one bad wheel comment popping up every other post.

Interesting…
