Thrustmaster TX Resonating When Loaded Up

I have just noticed that my thrustmaster TX seems to be resonating slightly when the motor is loaded up mid corner

I never noticed it before but now I have its really annoying me

I dont remember it doing from day one

Can anyone else confirm if their TX wheel is doing the same (it only happens under load and its almost like an electrical transformer humming which you can feel through the wheel)

Otherwise its working perfectly

Try turning FFB down to 58 Points in menu!

Brgds

Hi. Mine hums the same way during a heavy load but I don’t hear it online, live because I’m using my Turtle Beach headset. The problem I’m having with mine, and I’m not the only one, is that my rumble fades to nearly nothing after a while. It always returns and it doesn’t seem to matter whether I’m racing or not. FFB is always there. It’s just the rumble that disappears. Anyone else getting this? Thrustmaster tells me it’s a glitch in Forza/XB 1.

Now I come to think of it you could feel almost every cobble stone at Prague when I first started using the wheel, now there is nothing, I can’t test today as the wheel is packed away in its box as amazon is replacing it for me.

When you get your new wheelbase from Amazon you’ll notice that there’s Tons of rumble for a while, then it’ll almost completely disappear. It will always return after a while. It’s not a problem with the wheelbase apparently. I’ve had mine disappear on me between races. There at the end of one race and dead at the start of the next. It’s not an online issue either. Thrustmaster has told me that it’s an issue with either, or both XB 1/Forza 5. Not quite sure I believe them because I’M on my second wheel.

I have the same issue and think its an issue with overheating. When I lose rumble, if I pause the game and wait 5 minutes it will come back strong.

I think there is some thermal protection going on that may be faulty, because sometimes I lose rumble in the first 5 minutes of playing. I wouldnt think it could overheat that quickly unless its defective.

I will likely be exchanging my wheel and see if I just got a dud.

Just got the new wheel set up and it’s as you said, rumble city

I can’t say I’m entirely convinced that it’s either forza 5 or the xbox,

I’ve just got my wheel yesterday and there is no rumble at all? Theres force feedback but no vibration/rumble… should it be like that? I have the FFB set at 75.

It’s not an overheating issue with the wheel. I’ve had my rumble disappear while the wheel was doing nothing. The fan was not on, nor did it come on. I was setting up a car in tuning mode and stopped test driving to make some adjustments and swap some parts during a build. When I went back to test drive the rumble was gone. I know this because I stopped the car on the cobblestones at Prague. I had only driven two laps. The rumble was definitely there when I went to tuning mode. When I went back to test the new tune there was no rumble. Don’t bother sending your base back because the new one will do the exact same thing. A friend of mine sent his back because he thought he was having an overheat issue causing his rumble to shut down. When he fired up the replacement wheel the rumble faded after about 20 minutes. If it WAS an overtemp thing you’d also lose the FFB, which I’m guessing is always there, right?

No. It shouldn`t be like that. Did you update the wheel with your PCÉ Stupid question, I know but just checking.

I hadnt calibrated the wheel properly when I used it… its all working fine now (thankfully!)

Is it worth updating the firmware if the wheel is working OK?

Well, as long as it seems to work properly, it should be okay, but I’d update mine if it were new or a replacement. That way you’re working with the latest software.

I have the same problem, after 10 mins no rumble!!! Switch the wheel off and on again and it seems to work for 30 - 40 mins then back to no rumble.
I’ve owned the wheel for about 6 weeks now and it seems to be getting worse! Is it worth me getting the wheel replaced? If replaced will I still end up with the same issue?? Not happy!!
Has anyone found a fix? or know why this is happening??
Thanks Guys

I’m starting to thing the problem is with North American XBOXes and TX wheels that are 110 volt designated. A friend in Holland has the same setup as I do and he has ABSOLUTELY no issues with rumble loss or any of the things we’re dealing with here. Another friend of mine (in Canada) sent his back because of the rumble-fade issue and when he set the replacement up it worked exactly like his first. Rumble faded and returned in the same way. Is anyone in the Euro world experiencing this issue? It would help if we could narrow down the problem.

Mine is doing the same thing. After a race or two or three the rumble will disappear. I found that if I go back into profile/controller and turn off then on rumble the rumble will work for another few races then out of nowhere it might stop. Repeating the process always gets it back but it’s a bit annoying/frustrating to have to do that two or three times a night. Hopefully a patch is in the works? Microsoft?

I solve that problem by just unplugging the wheel’s USB and replugging it. If you use the side USB slot it’s a lot easier to access. This usually works, but not all the time. I really hope Microsoft gets off its collective ass & does something about this annoyance.
