I know most of the concerns people have and features people want WILL be addressed at some point, or at least I hope due to what I’ve seen improvement wise with Forza 7. But there has been A LOT of things driving me insane. Most of the petty things I’ve just gotten over because I love Forza and hey the game just came out, but some stuff… Just no.
Wheel spins - I love wheel spins, they do seem excessive when you start out but as you play longer it does slow down quite a bit. The main issue I have is not being able to sell or decline duplicate cars. I understand if selling the car back to the game like FH3 isn’t something developers had in mind this time around, which is cool, but getting 6+ of the same car and having to manually go into my car list and choose “REMOVE FROM GARAGE” every single time has got me to the point where every time I get a wheel spin I start getting annoyed thinking “PLEASE NOT A CAR”. Most ALL of the cars are virtually impossible to sell on the auction house, or just simply not worth it. So wheel spins get wasted. An option to “add to garage” or “Convert to Forza Points” or something similar would be cool. So people could buy cars that they’re actually missing. Just a thought.
Street Races - Most if not EVERY single street race on ALL SEASONS do not have DRY ROADS. There’s always wet spots or rain or water soaked areas all over the place causing people with their GRIP tunes online to slide all over the place, it’s extremely annoying. Please dry the roads a LITTLE.
Rivals - I also LOVE rivals, I was doing a bunch of street race rivals in FH3, this time around you got RNG TRAFFIC coming at you making you dodge oncoming traffic where there’s supposed to be “no doubt who the best is”. VERY annoying doing those when cars in the dark are right smack in the middle of a sharp turn you need to make on one attempt but not in the next. I’m guessing it’s a matter of WHEN not IF we get to choose our own cars, tunes and classes for rivals so being extremely restricted at the moment as to what you can do rivals based I can live with for now. I saw what was done with Forza 7 in that area and I couldn’t be happier.
ONLINE!!! - It drives me insane also. Ranked is a joke, I gave up a while ago when I went from “interested to see” to “[Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]?”. I drove around in free roam waiting to find a ranked match and wondered “how many times will it say that someone declined?” and I RQ’d the game at TWELVE. As for unranked, I took a lot of common complaints and threw them out the window with the exception of FREEROAM RUSH. The races are INSANELY short, I mean 90 seconds to MAX of about 3 minutes, then like 5 cut scenes and up to 6-7 MILES OF FREE ROAM RUSH. taking as much as 6 or 7 MINUTES to complete. When I choose a road racing car that’s got low suspension, race tires and lots of down force, I DO NOT like the idea of “take the road and lose” or “frolicking through the fields and barrel rolling off of cliffs and maybe you might win”.
Then with online, you get ZERO rewards unless you finish the team adventure, OK! I’ll take it, fair enough. But then you have to SIT THERE for three minutes waiting to start the next race A LOT of people QUIT because the have no other way to say “I DON’T WANT TO CONTINUE” and also claim the rewards so a lot of new races start off with full and end with less than half the people. Then the fact if your team is just, say YOU and someone else Vs. SIX OTHER PEOPLE and you and your teammate DEMOLISH the other team of SIX it’s LITERALLY impossible to win due to the point system. There are no winners or losers. You never win, YOUR TEAM WINS. You never lose either, YOUR TEAM LOSES. Forget skills and being good or bad, the fact is your performance means almost nothing because you can come in DEAD LAST and still be “THE LAST WINNER” it’s nuts. So much for “YEAH I WON” or “MAN! I should of done better” or “WOW! I got destroyed”, there’s no point. Plus how do determine winning and losing when many games are won or lost due to FREE ROAM RUSHES. Please add more modes and CHANGE THIS ONE TOO because if you add more NOBODY will EVER play this current mode. The fact that people cannot even VOTE on which event is even more infuriating.
FORZATHON LIVE!!! - There has been many, many times where I do these and go the FULL 15 minutes and LOSE because there aren’t enough people doing the event which is FINE if the amount of people in the session and the amount needed to move onto the next round SCALED up or down depending on the session size. If it’s me and 3 other people, getting 1.5 MILLION drift points in the SNOW on a ROAD I CANNOT SEE FULLY, then most likely that event will take much more than 15 minutes if the time was there. By see fully, I mean the points you accumulate only count when directly on the drift zone path, but if its COVERED IN SNOW COMPLETELY to the point where I can’t even see where the edge of the road is, I’M PROBABLY GONNA FAIL.
This is all I can think of for now. There’s of course much more, but it doesn’t bother me. Being rammed off roads and people riding on barriers instead of braking and GAINING ON PEOPLE like in The Crew when it first came out, well that’s fine. I know I’m not the only one to say these things, but after all the hours I put in so far I figured I’d throw my 2 cents in the mix even if it is the same as the others.
Other than this, I love the game and have nothing but high hopes for it!
