Things they got wrong

1 - No one calls it “Tokyo City”

2 - Minka House is as bad as “ATM Machine” it is wrong.

3 - the GR86 is a domestic car, WHY is it left hand drive?

4 - the taxi lights on the Toyota Crown are behaving completely wrong. The Logo light is lit ONLY when they are Free, looking for customers. The roof indicators are basically hazard lights and ONLY used when stopping/stopped to pick up/drop off passengers. (and the inside is wrong, but that’s another story.)

5 - Drivers in the right lane TURNING LEFT, Drivers in the left lane TURNING RIGHT.

6 - It seems no one at Turn10 has seen Tokyo streets. Many of the larger vehicles simply would not fit.

7- No one drives around with a bicycle on the roof, you are more likely to meet a pokemon.

8- No Skytree?

9- I recognised some of my work in a few places too.

10- We need way more traffic and way more Kei-cars.

I am sure there are many more glaring errors, but that’s just first impressions from Day one.

I’m not trying to jump to PGG’s defense here, but I can give you the likely explanation for #3.

You take a scan of the copy of the car you get your hands on. Promotional copies of cars are often random, and rarely represent either cars local to the setting or local to the developer.

Even if they could ask for a different copy, getting new scans and implementing them all in game would significantly slow down the car pipeline, meaning less total cars in game.

In this case, “good enough” is, frankly, good enough. The cost of making it perfect is too high, especially to the end consumer.

11- There is a distinct shortage of minivans compared to the real thing.

12- And fat ugly Maserati SUVs that you see tooling around Roppongi driven by micromums who can only just see over the steering wheel.

13- (The big one) NONE OF THE CHARACTERS ARE CUTE! >_<!!!

If you set a route on a motorway & if it asks you to turn around, the arrows will instruct you to crash through the barrier. The GPS should really be a goody two shoes about such things & have you just take the roads properly.

Interesting thing about the Crown taxi. If there’s no overall indicator function in this game then they are left with leaving it off for a broad accuracy? But that’s a bit low key.

It just goes to show an indicator function with such a good map would’ve benefitted this game immensely.

Is this satire?

I don’t know how anyone can say Tokyo needs “way more traffic” when I can’t make it 50 feet without one of them driving into the side of me. We’re playing a racing game here, not a gridlock simulator.

I’ve noticed that too. their “ANNA” is dangerously insane and fortunately (we hope) there is no real world equivalent that is that bad.

14 - There are no insane Uber Eats Cyclopaths on the expressway.

(That would be satire if it hasn’t already happened.) They are absolutely the worst cyclists in Japan, even those that are legally working.

Actually, there are all these scooters all over the place that would be fun to drive too. Has anyone seen a Honda Cub yet?

I wish, point (3) is real, that’s like Steve McQueen’s mustang being RHD.

Point (5) is serious, and has caused many accidents.

point (8) not so much, I’ve worked there a few times.

(10) But we definitely need more Kei-cars, some of them are amazing considering they only have 660cc engines. Hayabusa engine swaps notwithstanding ^^;

The Food Delivery ‘job’ is more of a grind than an actual job, I thought it would be just like the businesses in FH4 hence why it was considered separate from the stories but oh no…

Done 31 jobs so far and just about reached the 7th level, but bear in mind those 31 all make you drive to the restaurant first before the actual job begins, and some of those have you going to 3 destinations in 1 job.

There’s multiple versions of the Honda Acty you use but even the fastest one is only 414PI.

You never leave Tokyo so are just driving the same bunch of streets over and over, and after a while you’ll realise the jobs repeat, I only did when I got the same one twice in 1 shift.

Although I’m at promotion level 7 out of 9 I am probably actually only around or just past the halfway mark to fully completing it since credits earned are how you progress, after probably 70-80 separate instances of driving in total.

Unless like me you want the achievement don’t bother as the rewards for progression are also borderline insulting, some cosmetic rubbish, 480k credits in total and you do get a car but it’s a standard Acty, which costs less than 10k and is 100PI :man_shrugging:

I thought it was decent at first but the progression is so heavily padded that it’s wiped out the positive things I’d have said if it was shorter.

Some of the autoshow prices make no sense, why is a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N cheaper than all Imprezas or the Toyota taxi :joy:

Then at the other end why has the 330 P4 had it’s price increased by a full 61 million from FH5?

Not being able to get the Rakuraku version of the Acty - officially - is just another repeat to not getting the Hot Wheels monster truck in FH5.

I’ll put out my pernickety gripes. 1) No realistic stadium of any type inside of Tokyo itself is peculiar - and I don’t class that weirdly proportioned baseball (softball?) stadium as one at all. 2) Calling the map areas ‘regions’ and not prefectures.

If I recall correctly, they set prices for those old rare classics based on the most recent auction price or value estimate.

I thought that but then wouldn’t the 300 SLR remain at 143 million like it was when added to FH5’s autoshow?

I dunno, did it get auctioned again? I don’t really follow that stuff.

It’s also possible they adjusted for inflation, although that just seems like a solution in search of a problem.

Has anyone plucked up the courage to check out Horizon solo? You should get your variety there - it must carnage though. :sob:

They, again, added the entire body kit for the Toyota Celica, except for the rear bumper. Which for multiple reasons bothers me. Most of all, it’s because it’s what I have on my car. But also because they have the front bumper, side skirts, and rear spoiler for the car, so no one can even complete the kit. It just begs the question as to “why.” Do they need a bumper to scan?

Frankly, I think it’s just silly for a racing game where you’re literally a millionaire within hour one to even have jobs. Why would you even need one if you’re already banking in a lot of dough by racing? This would be like Max Verstappen moonlighting as an Uber Eats driver when he’s already one of the most paid motorsports drivers in the world.

The Horizon Play 100 levels and food delivery achievements seem too grindy, perhaps they would like to consider lowering the requirements a bit.

Didn’t have that much time to dive into Rivals yet but the tire balancing seems to be even worse than in Horizon 5?
Everything in A is full of Honda Beats (why does this need wider rear tires than supercars?) in what seems like drag tires?
