Inspired by the real-life Mazda MX5 Cup , the second Richland F1 Forza 4 Championship will get underway shortly. Just like its real-life counterpart, the car in Forza has racing everything – rear wing, splitter, gearbox, clutch, suspension, tyres etc – and just a little bit more power than standard (300 bhp) to make it accessible for both newbies to online racing and old hands.
Since it is a spec series, it promises tight, compelling and exciting racing; and with more grip and a low weight, the cars should stick to the track nicely. Obviously we can’t control competitors fettling their cars between races to get the best out of them, so fine-tuning is allowed and actively encouraged. The only thing we ask is that you do not alter the build of the car.
Upon signing up for the series, you will be gifted the car and a doorcard and also asked for your race number – anything from 2-99 – and then you’re away! Check the calendar below for the latest round.
In terms of liveries, anything goes as long as you display your racing number on both sides of the car and ideally have your gamertag visible on the car too. Feel free to create custom designs or replicas of your favourite design – we look forward to seeing some wonderfully painted cars. If you need any help with this, please let me know.
The format of the evening is as follows: (all times approx. and GMT)
8.20pm – Lobby is made and invites are sent to all online players.
8.30pm – Race One. The grid order will be randomised. It should last 10-15 minutes and the results of this race will determine the grid for the second race.
8.50pm – Race Two – Same as race one except that the results won’t form the grid for the next race.
9.10pm – Race Three – There will be a reverse grid based on the results of the previous two races.
NB: Damage will be set to ‘limited’ to discourage deliberate manoeuvres. If you are unable to make the first race or second race(s) of the evening, you will be welcome to join us for the remaining races, but you will be placed at the back of the grid.
Points system:
Points are awarded in all three races as follows:
1st : 25 points
2nd : 18 points
3rd : 15 points
4th : 12 points
5th : 10 points
6th : 8 points
7th : 6 points
8th : 4 points
9th : 2 points
10th : 1 point
Fastest lap: 5 points.
Each competitor will have their three lowest scores (not including non-starts) dropped at the end of the season. This is to stop bickering about whether someone should score points if they lagged out during a race.

Round Two: Motegi East - 18th February
Round Three: Siverstone National - 25th February
Round Four: Hockenheim National - 4th March
