Just because a predecessor has more content does not make any game worse. They pretty much stated what was in the game and whats not before release. If people had no idea then they did not really do their homework.
I was just a bit sarcastic here, couldnt resist, haha
Its well known that MS got caught on the wrong foot when Sony announced the PS4 release. The XBOX One was supposed to see daylight early/mid 2014, and as one of MS major Xbox franchises, FM5 had to be rushed as well to be a lauch title and system seller.
I dont blame T10 at all in this regard. But a certain D.G. was pretty enthusiastic about post-launch development of FM5…perhaps that caused some expectations to be set too high by the public
*edit: just want to add that i never said its worse than its predecessor, I would never spend +200 hours playing a bad game but you cant deny the fact that it has less content than FM4
Well, I never said who mentioned what was in the game. I said if you didn’t know then you didn’t do your homework. I also simply said just because a game has less content than its predecessor does not make it a bad game.
Oh my bad then. I was quite sure that you meant ‘T10’ when you wrote ‘They’.
Anyway, the list of missing features is long. More months of “add this, fix that, polish here and there” would have improved FM5, which is a very rushed game in my opinion. But T10 had a deadline…
I would not say it’s a list of missing features. Did Turn 10 say you get all this stuff from past games? If they did I missed that story. Pretty sure every game or at least a very very high percent of them have patches and fixes after release. People complain about this, that or the other thing about each game. So even if you do delay it, the first time trouble is found people jump all over it. How can they win? They can’t.
I’m sorry I don’t follow what you’re trying to say.
No, T10 didn’t say anything. People found out that even basic features were missing from the game. When something isn’t revealed by T10 or by reviews, is of course found out by the people who go out, buy the game, play it and tell others. Right? A good example would be the lack of an option to save replays of online races. People expected that and they were planning a day-one photoshoot online. As they expected custom public lobbies, telemetry in replays, drag strips, a working distance meter, an icon to see cars already bought et cetera. All of this wasn’t revealed by T10 or any other gaming site. Then people complained about this and that. It’s their right to do so. T10 in some cases listened, in others didn’t. But, are we talking about post-launch support or getting a good, complete game at launch?
It was a great idea to chuck all the useless aspects that were in F4. That being said don’t you think now that they trimmed away all the excess fat Turn 10 could fill that void with more of what matters in a racing sim. Cars tracks physics and tuning.
I will just agree to disagree with you at this point. I get what you are saying but I am not going to continue going over a matter of opinion on both ends.
