Stricter Manual + Clutch Setting

Hey Forza Community, My idea is that a stricter, or more challenging manual and clutch setting be added above, or in place of, the Manual + Clutch setting in past Forza Horizon and Motorsport games.

In the current setting, the only difference between normal Manual and Manual + Clutch is that Manual + Clutch activates usage of the clutch, but shifting can still be done without pressing down the clutch, with more delay between shifts and an inconvenient engine blip added.

What this new Manual + Clutch (Strict) setting would do is 1: Add a 0.05 second period after every gear shift input (i’ll elaborate later) and make the car only change gear when the clutch is pressed. If the clutch is not pressed while the shift happens, it would add moderate gearbox damage (5%?) if the car damage setting is on and play gear grinding SFX until the car is put in gear. if the clutch is depressed during that 0.05 second period, it would apply a minor amount of gearbox damage (1-2%?) and play a lower volume or intensity gear grinding SFX.

I believe this would add a much - needed realism aspect to shifting in FH6 for the enthusiasts, especially sim racers, who want a new level of difficulty to driving.

P.S. Playground Games Team, if you don’t have enough time to squeeze this relatively simple C++ code into the game, i’ll take on the challenge to design it myself
(Realistically i’m lazy and only know a few lines of C++ but i’ll try my best)

Whole-heartedly agree, to that end I’d argue in favor of stalling your car due to poor 1st gear engagement (just like learning a real stick) & an ignition switch function/button.
I can only dream, but that’d be amazing.

The gearbox damage part has been a thing in Motorsport games for quite some time now, and only applies if you have simulation damage on. If this worked with cosmetic damage on then it’d be game breaking in a way.
I do have to say though that something needs to be done with powershifting, you shouldn’t just never need to lift off the throttle to be able to change gears.
