So I found a strange glitch that apparently only affects my game.
I have never been big on drifting but a friend of mine only recently has talked (forced) me into it.
Anyways, apparently if I put my car into manual mode or manual w/ clutch I get almost perfect traction, even with all my settings off.
I have never noticed this before, anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
It’s no glitch. you will gain more control over your car, when you go for manual gears. And as a I understand that you are at least on some scale a veteran road course racer, the first impression is that you got “more grip”, while the true explanation is that you just got more in control as the computer doesn’t think for you.
As the automatic transmission which changes gears when ever it wants to, compared to your driving ability and knowledge when you should shift. (are you 10 feet from braking zone? or in middle of corner?)
All in all, the higher the speed, the more advanced driving techniques you use (drifting for example) the more the automatic will hinder your ability.
Of course, if you already have problems staying on the track on relatively low classes (c or below) automatic might be quite viable option, for learning to drive. (which you already have done) How ever, the sooner you start staying on the track with automatic, you can start focusing on gear changes, and you get even more control over your car.
When going for ultimate laptimes, / drifts what ever, the clutch comes in. It gives you even more control over your car, with it you can stabilize car that has lost it’s grip, you can perform “clutchkick” to cause loss of grip (on drive wheels) etc etc etc.
It all comes down to the fact, that the more control you take over from computers, the more skill it requires, but the more in control you will get.
